HELP EDS GALS! I need your help!
I started to use a retinol product recently and it really has peeled my skin. Being the "picker" that I am, I picked off the dry, flaky skin -- and of course that left a lot of RED, NEW skin . . . and it looks really splotchy all over my skin!
Someone even asked me if I had rosacea cuz there were these red spots on my forehead!
Does anyone recommend a product I could use to help this or should I leave the new skin alone and let it "heal" naturally? HELP HELP HELP!
Thank you all!

First, you may be using it too often. When you first start using a retinoid/retinol product, you should ease into it somewhat. Or you will shed like a snake. Since the shedding has already begun , I'd use a papaya/pumpkin mask (enzymes)to dissolve the dead skin instead of trying to physically remove it. If you don't care to do that, then gently pressing with a damp washcloth should help remove the worst offenders. For a gentle moisturizer, I'd recommend jojoba or rice bran oil on the nights you don't use the retinol. |

Just going to throw in a sunscreen reminder here!!! I would let it heal naturally, but also keep the areas hydrated. I second betterat40 with the jojoba oil. |

You will find that a lot of products you put on your face now is going to sting like mad. It's important to provide a barrier to your skin now, and you can try pure squalane or Decleor's Essential Balm. Both these do not sting and will calm the redness considerably. |

I've had luck with plain ole chamomile tea, strongly steaped and cooled with a cotton pad on irritated areas. |

Copper peptides also help and are often used after dermabraisons and deep peels. If you can't wait to get some from skinbiology, you should be able to pick up Iamin gel, which is a copper pep based wound healing product, from your local chemist. You could also try aloe vera gel.
Hope you feel better soon ant try to sit on your hands |

Oh yes, copper peptides and aloe, ahhh, so soothing!
I've also been experimenting with licorice tea topically. It's smells delicious and is calming. |
