I am thinking of buying one of these but just wanted to check with you guys on here to make sure they are safe. Do they ever burn or dry out lashes or does it make you lose more lashes also which is the best make to buy? |

I haven't tried them but I can't imagine how they could be good for your lashes...I thinkit would be akin to saying (IMHO) that curling irons are "good" for your hair.....I'm really interested in finding out too, though, what people think about them ....Me, I'm too scared to try them! At first blush, I'd be more inclined to try the curling mascaras (not that the chemicals in mascs are good for your lashes either!!)...

I have a ModelCo one and I have not seen any bad side effects from using it. They are not *hot* - just warm enough (ok, very warm) to actually "lift" your lashes at the base imparting a natural looking curl. |

I used to be the proud owner of an Eyecurl heated lash curler, but they’ve kind of gone downhill in terms of product craftsmanship and quality. Now I’ve got the Model Co Lash Wand that Mabsy mentioned (in fact, she got it for me!) and I really like it.
Anyway, my post is that I’ve been using a heated lash curler for over three years now and haven’t had any problems. If you’re concerned about it, though, you can always apply a lash conditioner underneath your mascara before using the heated curler, which would act as a “thermal protectant” much the same way as you would apply a heat protectant product to your hair before blow drying or using the straightening wand every day.....
Personally, I feel that using a heated lash curler is less damaging to one’s lashes than is using a traditional crimp-type curler, but that’s just me. |
