Can y'all help me choose,please ?
I was in sephora last week and there was a rep from MD skin care and she used this peel on me.I did not break out,and I guess it was good. But it is $68.Avon seems to have the same idea .IT is $32.
I've heard DDF pads r good.I don't know why,but
the 10% pads have been discontinued in EDS.
My questions are:
1)IS there anything in the ingredients that makes MD better than avon?
2)Is the neutralizing essential? If it is why does DDF not have it.And I guess it's been around for quite a while.
3)What is your experience with these products?

Let's see where to start...
-The MD second step is odd since they put C high on the ingredient list but then also have copper in the list so there goes your C benefits. The first step looks nice- mostly BHA (salicylic acid) but also has glycolic and lactic acid so probably a nice smoother.
-Hard to tell about the Avon since that ingredient list is not specifically for their pads.
-5% pads sound okay if your skin is sensitive. That's a pretty low % for an AHA product.
I haven't used any of them so can't speak re results using any of them long-term. I have used the Alpha Hydroxy cream (8%)and it did the job though it stung a bit. Currently I use AgeLimit serum (10% lactic/glycolic acid mix for sensitive skin). It's from cellularskinrx. I use it on my off-Retin-A nights for exfoliation and smoothing. I like it because it is not irritating and lasts forever. Right now I'm considering buying a spare bottle so I can get some more of their Polishing grains for free. |

I want to use one of these since I have been told that they get rid of fine lines.Would Agelimit serum do the work?I am 27 w/ oily T zone, and normal skin the rest of the face.I notice fine lines on my forehead and want to get rid of them. |

I think if you are working on getting rid of fine lines, I'd go for a retinoid like Retin-A or the strongest retinol you could get like LindaSy's Green cream or something in the ROC family of retinols. Retinoid is much stronger than retinol but in the same family (vitamin a derivatives) and there is much clinical proof that these will eliminate fine wrinkling.
I think the Age Limit will make your skinlook very smooth and fresh. This is what AHAs do and long-term use would thicken your skin thus eliminate fine wrinkling, too. But the Retin-A would work much faster and be more effective.
Vitamin C serum, copper peptides (can't use with Vitamin C) or matrixyl products all will thicken your skin as well helping to get rid of fine wrinkling.
The other thing to consider is simply moisturizing to plump up your skin. Are you just dehydrated? And also using sunscreen constantly to prevent damage to your collagen layer. |

I've either sampled or tried all of these products to some degree. I loved the MD pads until about day 4 and my face broke out in lttle bumps. Took a break from them and started over and whallah, same thing happened. I really liked these gylcolic pads alot as they immediately made my skin smooth, but sadly could not use them.
One word for Avon---UUGGHH! Used them once and broke out with a huge red, painful welt!! Never again.
I currently use DDf's 10% glycolic pads, which I was able to find online right before they discontinued them. I've had no breakouts from them and can use them daily with no flaking. My face doesn't turn red either, which is a plus because some products containing AHA will do this to me. Can't say that I'm overly impressed with them. I purchased them mainly to help with post acne marks and hyperpigmentation. I figured these along with my AHA lotion my skin would improve. I've only seen a very slight improvement. They do help with keeping my pores clean though.
Have you looked at trying Dr. Denese's firming pads (I think that's the name). On Delphi Forum's people rave about them. They also contain 10% AHA and are sold through QVC.com
If you get a chance email Dr. Dennis Gross's office and they will send you a 3 day sample of the Alpha Beta Peel Pads. Avon also will sample for you.
As for your question on ingredients I really can't answer you--sorry! As for the neuttralizer question you may want to address that question to Dennis Gross's website.
Hope this helps! |

That was very informative. Thanks a lot.
It has been 4 days since I tried MD and you know what,I have a bump on my forehead too.I thought,it was clearing up the gunk after bringing everything to the surface.Yes,I do know Dr.Denese.I have heard gr8 things too.$4 for shipping made me cringe! But h ey,if it is worth it I sure would do it.Like you suggested maybe,I should sample them first. |
