I did a 10% home TCA peel on my back and shoulders today. However, I didn't use gloves when apply the application and now my fingers look prunish (like when you stay in the bathtub for extended period of time). I'm a little worried about my finger? Did I burn off my fingerprints? Will my fingertips turn brown and start peeling off?
As for my back, it only itched while the TCA peel was on..not stinging..no anything. It doesn't loook crsuty or anything yet. |

I think your fingers will be ok. I would keep them moist, like with emu oil or something similar.
I will take a while to go crusty and start peeling. The whole process should take a week to 10 days. Remember to not let it get exposed and it needs to stay moist. |

Thanks faith. I have some Neosporin and per instructions to apply it 2 to 3 times daily.
As for my fingers, I will keep the shea butter handy. Hmm, I wonder if I could use the unrefined shea butter to keep my back moist...naw, better stick with Neosporin. |

Hi queenblue,
I did once a home TCA peel on my face. It peeled in 6 days, and during the process, was not bad looking. My finger-tips were quite dried up, but they self-healed within few days.
Another thing, I was told by the person that I bought the peel from not to use any moisturizer on the face, as this will conflict with its ability to peel. You may want to hold off the shea butter on your back, as it may either hinder the peel, or make the TCA application ineffective.
Hang in there. You should be fine. |

Ok, it's Sunday and absolutely nothing on my back and shoulder area. I think the strength may have been too low of a dosage. My skin doesn't look sunburnt or crusty. Just regular old skin as I've always had. But I keep apply the Neosporin just in case.
The only thing that's "peeling" are my fingers. It looks more like dry skin and I just put lotion on them and they are ok.
How long before I am suppose to see some peeling or flaking? |

I have my TCA peel sitting here still; I think after summer is a better time for me to do it. Before you write it off completely, I would wait a few more days. If you haven't peeled by Wednesday, I would say you weren't going to. I wouldn't do it again too soon though. How long did you leave it on for BTW? |

My 20% that I applied to my legs/hands (freckles, age spots) has not "peeled" either. BUT I can see that the skin over the spots is all wrinkly and weird-looking. I wonder if it just gradually goes away instead of peeling like a banana. My hands were more flaky than peeling and the spots are much, much better.
I also used along the sides of my cheeks where I felt like I was starting to get darker areas and I did not see any peeling there either. I had one day of semi-flakiness on one side but that's all. However, the areas do look lighter. Hmmm!
I used it about one week ago and left on for about 5-6 minutes. I'm thinking now that TCA just doesn't seem to "work" on my skin. I've gotten more peeling from lactic acid and salicylic acid before. |

Faith--I left it on for about 3-4 minutes as stated on the directions it stung a little (almost tingly) but it made my back itch more than anything. Then I blotted with a cold wet towel.
Also, I saw a 8% glycolic acid pads that you use everynight. Do you think I should perhaps try these and see what happens?
Betterat40--Sounds like we are having the same issue..no peeling. I think next time I will also try a salicylic acid or lactic acid. |

Alright, it didn't work. It's a Aug. 3rd and absolutely nothing no peeling no flaking no nothing. In a few weeks I am going to try a 30% glycolic peel. It says to do once a week but I'm not sure what's going to happen to my skin. |
