Hi -- Sorry for the long post. I am going on an extended trip (in hot, tropical climates) and am trying to find a night cream that comes in a tube rather than a jar or pump because they take up so much room and can break. I realize I can transfer my existing cream to a plastic bottle and may end up doing just that but am not so keen on doing that because of the consistency of the products I currently use.
I have combo skin that breaks out occasionally.

For a night cream, I use either Jurlique Herbal Recovery or Skinceuticals Renew and alternate with the Decleor Essential Balm. For my trip, I plan on taking the Decleor because I really like it and was thinking of maybe alternating with a Yonka creme (I recently started using Juvenil and Creme 15 when I had a breakout and liked it) or maybe Jurlique Calendula Cream.

I am just not sure which Yonka Creme and also if Calendula is recommended for every night use so any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I do not need to use either line just would like one in a tube.

Thanks!

Cetaphil is what I use all over the face, neck, and chest every night. It keeps my face dewy and moisturized! Smile

I'm not sure about the Jurlique Calendula, it's been ages since I used it (like, over ten years I think). I would suggest Dr Hauschka Quince Day Cream (I use it at night sometimes anyway, makes no difference) or the YonKa Creme15. I think the Creme15 is a good choice if you want to prevent breakouts. I just don't know about continued use of it with the Decleor Essential Balm (which itself should only be used for two weeks out of a month).

I don't know whether you have a Muji near you, but they sell fantastic and sturdy plastic pots which are ideal for travelling. You can even get some which screw together to form a column, and these take up even less space in your luggage. They also sell little pipettes, funnels, scoops and spatulas so you can decant stuff into the pots.

I also make sure I save and clean out any handy-sized plastic containers that come with cosmetics so that I can use them for decanting products for travelling.

ohho, marjorb! There are Muji in Japan too, and that sounds so great!! I am procrastinating in packing for my trip next week, and that sounds like just the thing to motivate me!!

Thanks everyone. I am in the U.S. I am planning on transferring my cleansers to some sort of special container. I will look and see if any places carry Muji. I just don't want to transfer the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel because of the pump or the Skinceuticals because it is a cream. Most of the other stuff I use is in tubes: Dr. H CC, Dermalogica sheer tint light, Dermalogica total eye care. I am even transferring my Vivier C to the sample size bottles have from Skinceuticals. I also have a sample bottle of Neroli which should last.

Mabsy -- Regarding what you said about using the Decleor and the Creme 15, that was my concern as well (ie, that it might be overkill). My mom uses the Dr. H Quince so I may give that a try. What other stuff do you use at night?

I think the Quince would be a good choice, particularly since it's easy for you to try it first and see if you like it before you decide to buy it (maybe you can just "borrow" your mum's? Wink). At the moment I'm not using anything at night that would interest you (at least in terms of packaging) I don't think. I'm using the Jan Marini Bio-Glycolic Bioclear Lotion (comes in a glass bottle w/pump), then MDF Hydrating Gel over the top (plastic pump bottle) and then an Orlane moisturising lotion (also plastic pump bottle). I also tend to be drawn to things in pumps as I don't like jars in particular....

Faith - I absolutely love Muji! They have an unbelievable range of items, and beautifully designed in a very simple way. I could spend hours in there!

daisyatl - Here are the Muji travel accessories I'm talking about. I'd really highly recommend them, if you're able to find any:

Scroll to the last section for the Travel Items:
http://www.mujionline.com/shop_uk/gallery.asp?cat=21#Travel

The Muji UK website will even ship to the US and Canada. Items costing up to £19.99 cost £7.95 for shipping, though.

Apparently, Muji did have a US website, but it closed as it didn't do well. MoMA does sell some Muji items but I couldn't see any of the travel items, I'm afraid. Just in case you want to enquire if they can get hold of any for you, here's the website address:

http://momastore.org/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&categoryId=10851&langId=-1

Hope that might help.

majorb,

I know what you mean. Everything is so simple, but looks fantastic. I hadn't heard of Muji before I moved here, but I am pleased to know that they ship to Canada. The shipping price is a bit high though...
