I got this as part of a birthday present Sothys package from some friends at the beginning of this year and I must admit that it took me ages to figure out what this product actually was, and then also how to use it.

The instructions sort of imply that this is a cleanser - it is not! I use this in the shower after I wash my face. I apply it with wet hands on a wet face and massage it in a bit. Leave for 5 minutes and wash off either just with water or with the help of a sea sponge. That procedure seems to work best with this and it is how it is actually supposed to be used - I found this out from MUA when I checked the reviews for it (after hating it at first).

The reason I hated this product at first was pretty much because I followed the instructions on the tube Confused I didn't know about using it in the shower (the steam *really* helps with this!) so I used it "normally" and found that not only it did absolutely nothing, it was also *very* difficult to wash off the skin! I had to wash my face a few times just to get this stuff off me!

I have been using this the "proper" way now for about two months - generally about twice or three times a week. I did use it every day for about a week but found that it dried out my skin. After the two months of regular use I can say that this does work to minimise the pores and decongest the skin but personally I don't see any of the "healthy glow" results that some on MUA have commented on. I have not been using the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream lately but with this my skin looks very good - so for me it seems to be able to prevent blackheads to a large extent and to clear out the pores. Would I actually buy another tube of this? Maybe - it depends on how lazy I am feeling Smile Granted, it is much less tedious than the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream and it does a good job - but not as good a job as the Dr Hauschka Smile With the Dr H CC, I had no pores, no blackheads *and* had the healthy glow. The Dr H CC worked so well for me in fact that it has become my comparison benchmark for other decongestants and pore cleaners - so far nothing has quite measured up...

Btw, texture wise this is a bit weird. It looks kinda pearly but also kinda lumpy and it's pretty sticky as well. Once I started using it in the shower though, I had no problems with washing it off.
