My fav is my finger! Got it cheap...came with the package! No really...I gave up using eyelash curlers years ago as it seemed to make my lashes more brittle and thinned them. For many years I have been applying mascara then curling with my fingers. It has actually trained my lashes to curl up naturally. To get the most dramatically curled lashes, I apply mascara, lift them with my finger and blow dry briefly. WOW!!! |
Wow, fingers!! surely it is the most natural and cheapest way to curl your lashes!!
But how can you make it??? Can the curl lasts well?? |

Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler....I have spent a fortune and tried most all out there, saw this and decided to give it a try and never looked back! Love it!!! |
I've tried a few brands, but always go back to Shu Uemura ... I've never tried Koji or kevyn Aucoin though.
@ Katy & Dark Moon ... how do these brands compare to Shu Uemura's? |
I have never tried kevyn Aucoin, but I did use Shu Uemura. Comparing with Shu Uemura, I think Koji wins!! I think Koji can perfectly my eye shape so I can easily and efficiently curl ALL my lashes in One go!! |

Katy, when I googled the Koji, I saw different numbers ... 71, 72 and 73. How do you know which number you should get?
I haven't seen this sold in Canada yet - I'll have to keep looking |

Hi Time2Bme,
As I have thrown away the packing of the curler, I can't tell you the model of my curler. But I know that my curler is the most advanced version of Koji, it is 38mm wide (comparing with other Koji curlers which is usally 33mm).
I will try to search for the model no. and let you know!!
I brought that curler in Japan during a trip last summer, so not sure it can be found in Canada...And yes, just keep looking for that cos it's really worth trying!! |

I have come to the conclusion that it all depends on each individuals eye shape and size, which curler works best. I have so many from my days of doing makeup for others and many just don't work for my eyes, but I always found one that suited the person I was applying makeup for. |

I just found that my friend is also using Koji, but her curler is different from mine. She is using no.73, the 33mm one, which is 50%cheaper than mine!! And she said that the effect is quite good too! |

Definitely Shu Uemura for me. My DD bought me the gold one. The only issue now is that I have long bimatoprost lashes and if I curl them, they hit my eye socket and all the mascara comes off! |

Being Asian with straight lashes who needs all the help I can get, the best eyelash curlers are the Japanese brands,I have to agree both the Shu Uemure and the shiseido are the best. I have also found that by heating the curler by using the hairdryer and then applying them to eyelashes and waiting for them to cool down helps to set and hold the shape and curl a lot more. Even applying one coat of mascara lightly before you apply the heated curler makes a big difference. I think the reason why the Japanese brands work so much better is due to the shape of the Curler. I haven't seen the Koji brand but will definitely give that a go |

Yes, just go for Koji, I am sure that you will fall in love with it! Once I tried it, I have abandoned my Shu Uemure curler |

I am actually looking for an eyelash curler!
Mavala (my favorite brand) has one and it seems good, is plastic and $9.
Not too sure where it is made-but I do know all Mavala nail products and tweezers and made in Switzerland.
I think they also make a metal version that I've seen online. |

My favorite of the ones I've tried is the Shu Uemura. When I was looking into eyelash curlers, the Shu Uemura and Shiseido were among the most popular mechnical ones. I watched some youtube videos of people trying both of them. The curlers have slightly different shapes, but one of the main differences between the two--both were rated as high-quality by most youtubers--was that the silicon pad in the Shu Uemura is harder, which means that it helps give a longer-lasting curl. So I bought the Shu Uemura and have been very happy with it! |

For those interested in the Koji eyelash curlers: I recently ordered two from AdamBeauty.com. The Koji curlers on this site cost around $7 each, except for the one that Katy uses (which is $15). The system added $2 at checkout for shipping to Canada. |
