Hi there,
Can anyone share how they wash their brushes? I think my problem is that I always leave soap / detergent behind on the brush and it ends up getting on my skin and breaking me out. Can anyone offer a fail-proof solution to this? I use Bare Escentuals brushes (for you BE-users out there).
Thanks!!!!!

Hello Chunlisa,
I wash my brushes the same way I wash my hair with my favorite shampoo ( but no conditioner and no dandruff shampoo, please!), soak them in a shampoo/ hot water bowl for about 10mins and rinse them with lukewarm water until the water runs clear and let them air dry overnight. I try to wash them once a week! |

Hi Lisa
I just wash them with whatever facial cleanser I use on my face. |

I do the same as thoughtcrime does I try not to soak them brushes because I read (on this forum I'm pretty sure) that that can make the glue less effective thus shortening the life span of the brush (i.e. the bristles may start to fall out).
I just quickly wash mine once a week with a foaming cleanser (Origins Never A Dull Moment 'coz I don't actually like it so I'm using it up on my brushes ). I then lay them out on a tissue with the brush bit hanging over the edge of the bathroom cabinet to air it out and let it dry. |

I figure if the cleanser doesn't break out your face, it's safe to use on your brushes. And I use the same tactic as Mabsy, I use a cleanser that I don't care for (M.D. formulations nonglycolic cleanser) but that doesn't break me out. Except I stand them up in a little glass jar with the brushes pointing towards the ceiling. :P |
