Quick question:
I have combo/oily skin.
Morning routine is as follows:
1. wash (murad clarifying [w/salcylic acid] &/or BHA + AHA cleanser)
2. Vit C (skinceuticals C+AHA ..let that sink in)
3. moisturize (murad skin perfecting lotion)
4. sunscreen (peter Thomas Roth superlight SPF 45)
I find that when I use the sunscreen over the moisturizer, my face feels and looks much oilier all day...
what do you think about just using the sunscreen and skipping the moisturizer step? It seems like the sunscreen (despite claiming to be super light) is thick enough to do the trick. |

I too shared your problem and during the summer would often just Cleanse, tone and sunscreen (I used Avene).
Use a toner though, it really does make the world of difference to oily skin, I just use witch hazel which costs about £1 from my local chemist.
You could try using a little Jojoba oil before applying sunscreen, Jojoba regulates sebum production throughout the day. I use Jojoba Oil as a daily moisturiser. |

EJB-
You really should have a moisturizer included with your morning routine because the moisturizer treats the lower layers of the skin, and the sunscreen sits on top and offers a layer of protection. You can try a moisturizer that's formulated for oily/combo skin, or jojoba oil as rosebud said.
Hope this helps! |

I have combo/oily skin too and this past summer I skipped moisturizer because I found that my sunscreen was emollient enough. As a matter of fact it was tough to control the oilies. I think with our skin type its important not to smother our skin especially if its hot and humid and we perspire more - this is a recipe for breakouts! Now that its getting cooler I am still using just sunscreen and my moisture level appears optimal. In the winter I will adjust and use moisturizer. |

I do not use moisturizer. My sunscreen is my moisturizer. This is fine for me with combo/normal skin. |
