I have been using this on and off for about two months now I think. While I don't use this 'twice a day, every day' (too many other things to try at the moment ) I keep coming back to it because I really like how it makes my skin feel. It's one of those products where I can't stop touching my face afterwards because it feels nice; soft and plump. My skin feels slightly sticky with this on but it's not a "bad" sticky, it's a GOOD sticky. I can't quite explain it sorry, but I really like that feeling
This comes in a 50mL pump bottle which I'm a big fan of; I much prefer pump packaging to a pot or a bottle. It's slightly yellowy in color and has a nice (but very faint) smell to it. It also has SPF6 and (from advertising) it's supposed to protect your skin from 'harmful ozone molecules'. I don't know if I buy into that but I still really like the lotion though. I tend to mix in some Dermalogica Solar Booster into it on a day when I know I'll be in the sun (SPF6 is just not enough).
This is the first Juvena product I have tried and it has left me with a good impression of the brand. I like the packaging and I'm a big fan of stuff with Co-Q10 in general. I think this would be a great anti-aging moisturiser for someone in their twenties. But in my opinion this wouldn't be best for people with oily skins because while it is a fluid I don't think it would be light enough (not that it's too heavy).

Mabsy, I'm glad you reviewed a Juvena product. I have been curious about this brand. You mentioned it wouldn't be suitable for oily skin, but what about combo skin? My skin is combination, but is now getting dry and craving moisture because of the winter cold outside and how I have the heat cranked up inside! Would you say the ingredients listed lean toward botanical based ingredients? And do you know if it says "not tested on animals" anywhere on the packaging? I went to the Juvena website but didn't find any info. I love all the moisturizers I currently have but they don't contain SPF and I like how you mentioned this one does, even though it's a small amount. Sorry for the interrogation but I am curious about this line. :P |

Hi Thoughtcrime
I added the bit about oily skin because I have a few friends who battle with oily skin and having rummaged through their bathroom cabinets (as per usual ) I see that the products they use are in general very light lotions or gel-creams. One of my friends tried the Juvena (allbeit only on her hand ) and decided that it wasn't going to be light enough for her. The Juvena Q10 Fluid IS a lotion but in my opinion it is a thicker one. I class my skin as changing from normal to combo (it has a mind all of its own! ) and I have not had more problems than usual. This is definitely not a mattifying product though. As with anything, best get a sample
I don't have the box for this product and the bottle does not list the ingredients at all. However, looking at their website I do not get the impression that they are a 'botanically oriented' company as say YonKa or Decleor are.
Re: animal testing. Juvena does not test on animals. The packaging does not state that but the website does somewhere (though it was rather hard to find). If you go back to the Juvena website and click on "Environmental Protection ..." off one of their pages (can't remember exact link name sorry) then you will get to the following statement:
Quote: |
Environmental Protection & Animal Testing
JUVENA actively participates in programmes to protect the environment. All materials known to pollute the environment are banned especially from the areas of product and packaging development.
For development of their products, JUVENA neither performs nor commissions animal testing. |

Mabsy, thanks so much for this. I so want to try Juvena now, especially since you sent that quote how they don't test on animals.
I am interested in the PC line which is geared toward young skin, and the anti-aging line Co-Q10. I am 27 so at the borderline age....
Thanks for your informative response! |
