Does anyone else do this? I don't know why I can't stop biting the inside of my cheeks throughout the day. I have TMJ problems and sometimes I think I do it because my jaw isn't properly aligned, so my mouth is never really *comfortable* at rest. I do it more when I'm stressed, but not just then either, so it can't be solely stress related.

I just wondered if anyone else dealt with this problem and if they were able to figure out a way to stop. I wouldn't care if it didn't aggravate my jaw problems, not to mention the lines around my mouth! Confused

I find I do this at night(and have been wondering if I am grinding my teeth and don't know it??) Anyway, I definitely find I do it more often when I am under stress. I have really chewed it bad, too(sorry, Sad gross)

I use glyoxide when it gets bad and that helps.

I do the EXACT same thing, OMG, I thought I am the only one. Like you said, I bite more when I am stressed, no one knows about this, except my dentist, actually my dental hygenist, she asked me if I notice the biting cause she can see all bite marks, not nice !! I honestly don't know how to stop it either. Chewing gum maybe ?

I do the same kind of thing, when I am stressed, but to my lips. Embarassed It is disgusting. With my lips, I just keep putting on so much gloss that I can't bite them...

I don't believe it! I thought I was the only one, too! Very Happy

I find that I do it absentmindedly, with absolutely no idea that it's happening. It's very annoying, but I just can't seem to stop myself. In fact, I was just doing it when I started to read this message! Embarassed

I kinda bite my tongue, and do stupid things with it, but then I have a huge tongue and it annoys me. I feel it is too big for my mouth and that is why it annoys me. Other people think I am a freak and am obsessing.

Chewing gum would probably help, but I can't have any b/c of my TMJ problems. I think I need a hypnotist! Brick wall

By the way, I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel like less of a freak now!
