I'm 27 and I only started good skin care about 26. Prior to that I put nothing on my face, no sunscreen/moisturizers, only soap and water. And I'd have to say, NOPE. I will not consider going back.

Yes, if we're not going under the sun, we can opt not to put sunblock. And yes, we can also not put moisturizers (I seldomly do). But no way am I giving up my vitamin c and Tretinoin, although with little scientific backing, it works for ME Smile I mean I saw a tremendous improvement on my skin's texture.

So yup, for me, staples are vitamin c and retinoic acid; Sunblocks/moisturizers only when needed.

There are a lot of "active" inexpensive products and I agree that some "moisturizers" sold by expensive lines are marketing hype. That is why I love EDS coz it has enabled me to become a smart buyer now who looks at ingredients list and I even learned cheap tricks like OCM and ACV. EDS made me take a step back Smile

Haba Powder Wash
Haba VC Lotion
Decleor Ylang Ylang oil
Decleor Mattifying fluid
Everday Minerals MMU

PM
Haba Powder Wash
Haba Fair Lady VC serum (when this is finished I'm going to order Candessence and try that...cheaper and more Vitamin C)

I have a fairly low-rent routine. It sorta works but I think I'll try something new when I use up my old stuff (whenever that will be)

AM:
- Clarisonic with Clarisonic Cleanser and Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil w/ Awahpui cleanser (this is randomness as I'm trying to use these two up)
- Pernox scrub (I exfoliate a LOT, I know)
- Pond's Age DefEye cream
- Burt's Bees eye cream
- ACV toner
- Vit. C crystals melted in Aloe Vera gel (Lily of the Desert)
- A bit of jojoba oil patted on
- Sunscreen (Shiseido or DHC)

PM
- Take off everything with oil. Currently using grapeseed oil.
- Wash off oil with Pears or Dr. Bronner's lavender soap
- Clarisonic with classic Clearasil cleanser
- Tri-Luma
- More jojoba oil all over
- RoC Retinol Correxion eye cream
- La Vitton rejuvenating eye oil
- Burt's Bees eye cream

OMG I forgot to mention Sofina Nuance Up (before the MMU!!!)

AM:
Muslin cloth in the shower
Eve Lom SPF 15 moisturiser
Jo Malone Green Tea and Honey eye cream
Jurlique lip balm
If I am going to be in the sun: Shu Uemura XTR SPF 50 and the SPF 25

PM:
Eve Lom cleanser and muslin
Jo Malone Green Tea and Honey eye cream
Jurlique lip balm
Spot moisturiser on dry nasolabial area
Jan Marini eyelash treatment

I had very sensitive skin after a bad Obagi experience so I had to work on calming my skin down... the Eve Lom has been fabulous for that. I just reordered a pot and also her eye serum and kiss mix. The Jo Malone eye cream is fine but it's not worth the hassle of ordering it. I like the Jurlique lip balm too but what can I say, I'm always after something new.

I also am going to carefully try and add some new things, I have ordered the Cellex-C hydra B serum and dremu oil, also asked for a sample of the vitamin C serum. I did not want to waste a whole bottle if the C makes my skin freak out.

Oh my gosh! My routine has changed alot since my last post (May). Infact, I think it's changed a few times in between then and now, but finally I think I've found something that seems to be working for me.

AM:
JB Green Apple Cleanser
PSF 02 Serum (most days)
ISC Super Serum
Cellular Skin RX Eye Bright (this hasn't decreased my circles, but it doesn't hurt either so I'm using it up)
Aloette Cellular Day Defense SPF 15
Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm Eye/Lip

PM:
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel or Yonka Gel Nettoyant Cleansing Gel
ISC Active Serum (every 2nd night)
Aloette Age Defiance Firming Serum (every other night)
Aloette Night Recovery Complex
Cellular Skin RX Eye Bright
Avene Ystheal+ Eye Contour Care (JUST started using this to try to increase the collagen under my eyes ... hopefully)

Once or Twice a Week:
JB Green Apple Peel
Aloette Pro-Lipid Refine

I also use the Clarisonic nearly every night (for a few moments up towards 2 minutes depending on how much time I feel like devoting to it)

Now my thoughts on this ... LOVING the IS Clinical products. I really think these have made a difference in the amount of breakouts and skin congestion I was suffering from. And my face MAY seem alittle firmer (but maybe that's all in my head). I'm actually somewhat content with the state of my face now. I also think the Aloette has helped. When I was thinking about a new day lotion, I tried to think of the (few) times in the past my face has cleared up and one time was when I was using the Aloette Cellular Day Defense moisturizer. So I thought I'd give it another try and I think I like it again. I'd stopped using it because I wasn't sure it was moisturizing enough in the winter, but now I'm just using some of my Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster underneath if I need to.

Things I'd still like to tackle (now that the breakouts/congestion is more under control) ... pigmentation and my continuing quest to help my dark circles.

WOW ... that was ALOT of information! Very Happy

If it isn't inappropriate, would any of the ladies mind putting up some photos of your skin to show how effective your daily routines are? Just shots of skin would be good Laughing .

The reason I am asking is because I don't know what everybody means by good skin. My skin has improved, but I still see pores on my forehead and some teensy weensy bumpy skin around my nose and cheek areas. But perhaps that is actually good skin, or perhaps not. I don't have a camera so I can't show you what I mean.

Anyways my skin routine is:

Morning
1. Cleanse with Neutrogena extra gentle cleanser
2. Olay Blemish Moisturiser
3. Avene 25 SPF tinted sunblock
4. Dusting of translucent powder to cut down the glowy skin look.

PM
1. Cleanse with OCM (sweet almond oil first and then castor oil on t-zone)
2. Olay Blemish Moisturiser. Sometimes EMU oil on damp skin
3. Spot treatment with Neutrogena Blemish Treatment if necessary

PM

I realized I didn't post in this thread before so here goes. I think this schedule is working well so far and not gonna change anything anytime soon (hope I don't jinx it...).

AM:
Primavera Refining Exfoliating Cleanser (HG)
Earth Science Herbal Clarifying Astringent or Earth to Body Facial Toner (both alcohol free, both also near HG status)
ISC Proheal (been using a sample of Skinceuticals AOX 20 though to compare)
Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel
Oxygen Replenish
Camellia Oil or YY oil or Phyto-Moisture (depends on how my skin feels)
Escents Acne Gel (HG)
Yonka 15 mixed with Juvenil
Clarins UV Plus + Everyday Minerals MMU (both of these only when I'm going out)

PM:
Dermalogica Precleanse + Jurlique Foaming Cleanser (if wearing makeup)
Primavera Cleansing Fluid + Jurlique Face Wash Cream (if no makeup) both HG
Earth Science Herbal Clarifying Astringent or Earth to Body Facial Toner
ISC Active
Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective
Oxygen Replenish
Camellia Oil or Phyto-Moisture
Escents Acne Gel
Yonka 15 mixed w/Juvenil

Earth to Body Clay-Need Treatment (HG) almost everyday
Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel or Bioelements Pumice Peel every other day
Valmont Nature Moisturizing with a Mask (HG) - only when needed

I'd take a picture but my skin isn't all that nice YET. However this routine has controlled my breakouts greatly (not completely though because mine are hormonal). I still have a lot of light brown acne pigmentation to deal with due to the large amount of purging and acne I got the past few months due to trying differently products and stopping Proactiv. However I'm liking this routine just due to the fact of how my acne has improved compared to a month or 2 ago.

Man, do I have a routine?? I've been sampling all sorts of new stuff lately. Below is what I'm enjoying right now:

AM:
Physiodermie SL cleanser
15% Mandelic acid (Skincarecental's) *OR*
ISC Superserum
Eye Bright and/or ISC Eye Complex
ISC Hydrocool/HA if necessary
Laura Mercier oil free moisturizer SPF 20

PM:
Devita Aloe Cleanser
ISC Active OR Vivant Exfol A
ISC Firming Complex (over the ISC Active)
ISC Hydrocool
Eye Bright and/or ISC Eye Complex

Weekly: Dr H Rejuvenating Mask (great stuff)

I just started using the Exfol A, so I can't really give a report on it yet yet. I really want to incorporate a Vit A product to help with collagen production but can't find one whose forumlation agrees with me. If the Exfol doesn't cut it, I'll try SkinC Retinol.

I don't wash my face in the morning! Just rinse w/ warm water and pat on some Dr. H Normalizing Day Oil and use any of the several eye creams I have laying about.

At night I do OCM and follow up w/ witch hazel toner and some Burt's Bees Repair Serum around eyes and fine lines (LOVE this product). About 2-3 nights a week I use Retin-A Micro and Juice Apple Peel once per week.

Here's the full programme when I have the time and while I have one.

AM
wash with the lovely Cellcosmet Gentle Cream Cleanser
Vivant Spintrap (C&E) (leave it on for as long as possible then rinse with water)
Sometimes spot treat areas with Vivant Mandelic 15% (leave half an hour at least then rinse)
eyes - PSF's Phyto-Lift
then - all over
a few drops of PSF's ALA serum
a dab of emu
a little HA
Avene Lait 40 SS
a touch of JI here and there
(I don't like feeling layered - hence all the rinsing)

PM
Night one
wash with Cellcosmet
Diacneal - including eye area (wait half an hour)
Skinbio's PR3 (cream based CP)

Night two
wash with Cellcosmet
Lashings of Vivant Mandelic 15% (wait half an hour)
Skinbio's PR3 or emu
eyes: Cellcosmet ultra eye complex
topped with either PR3 or emu

I'd repurchase all of these things except the PSF Phyto-Lift, which doesn't lift me much and the Cellcosmet ultra, which I really like but it's only a sample (from Theresa Smile) and for the real price it's not quite life saving enough.

Here is what I am doing right now.
Morning:
Shower - so don't separately wash my face
Toner - either PCA #5 or Skin Medica Rejuvinating
Skin Medica TNS (won't repurchase cause I can't stand the smell)- might sub Kinerase C6
Skin Medica Vitamin C
Kinerase Cream
My foundation has sunscreen and this time of the year I am not out long enough to worry. I have Sunforgettable if I need more.

Evening:
PCA #41 cleanser
PCA #5 toner
Murad Age Diminishing Serum
Avene Yshteal Retinol every other night
Remergent DNA Repair
Remergent Barrier Repair

I am still sampling eye creams to see which I like best. Right now it seems to be either Murad Resurgence Eye Cream or Skinceuticals Eye Balm. Although I use the Kinerase Cream and both Remergent products under my eyes too.

I am fairly new using a regular skin care regimen and stronger products. Before was just using a moisturizer - usually Prescriptives or Avon ANEW. My skin seems to be doing well with the new routine. It feels soft and looks poreless. I haven't broken out and nothing seems to be irritating my skin. The TNS smell irritates my nose though - the smell is disgusting IMO! Shock

I use a mild scrub once or twice a week. Right now I am using the Nia24 scrub.

I see the dermatologist in early November and am anxious to hear a professional opinion of how my skin looks and to hear if she has any recs. I will be 54 soon and I think most would say I look much younger.

cheaper tht works as well.

I don't think so - but my skin was already in bad shape from purging during that time in general due to constantly adding/changing products and trying to figure out what works for me (and the fact I wasn't using an acne gel and only using Juvenil which didn't work out for me). But I'm pretty sure that Active didn't make me purge and it doesn't give me acne either. My skin doesn't really react to glycolic products in that way (I was already using GAP every other day before starting on the Active and never had a problem). HTH

Finally happy with my skin care routine-
AM
OCM with Olive oil or Badger's Evolving Body Oil-http://www.badgerbalm.com/evolving_massage.html
ACV Toner
Cellex C Advanced C serum (Switching to Skinceuticals CE Ferulic soon)
Badger SPF 15 Block (if I will be outside for more than 5 minutes I use the SPF 30, I highly recommend these if you are lookng for a purely zinc, 100% natural block)
I finish with a light layer loose powder/MMU- if
I'm not going outside I use Jurlique's Rose Dust. If I'm going out, I prep with this and use Alima MMU.

PM
OCM (same oils as AM)
ACV Toner
Retin-a- .05
Squalane on drier areas

Weekly:
I use a lactic acid peel from MUAC

I have never posted on a routine thread because I have always jumped around switching products.. but now it seems I have stabilised somewhat, at least it is still with one range...

AM:
Warm/hot water rinse, steam with muslin cloth
Zenbiotic cleanser
" Oxytoner, saturated
" Phyto moisturiser
" Synergy serum (alternate days)
" Eye area revitaliser
(very rarely use spot treatments like Decleor YY balm, Dr H rejuv. mask, Yonka Juvenil)
Jurlique Deep Penetration Cream Mask as a treat weekly
-
Jurlique silk dust
(sometimes Pure Luxe banana split line eraser or MMU)

PM:
Warm/hot water rinse
Zenbiotic cleanser
" Oxytoner, saturated
" Phyto moisturiser
" Eye area revitaliser
Alternate between Synergy/cell renewal/amino acid treatment/Vit C & Msm treatment and 2-3 day breaks

WEEKLY:
(since starting ZB my skin turns over extremely fast)
Dr Hauschka Clay mask
Exfoliate with microdermabrasion crystals + rose hydrosol
*I do this every other day now... otherwise I get sluggish skin.
