I've been using this product called Dermaglow Lip Plumper made by Vitalsciencecorp and have had good results. My lips are slightly fuller, vertical lines are reduced and are very moist. You can purchase it in Canada at London Drugs for about $25. It's much cheaper than CityLips which I heard is effective as well. I also liked it because it doesn't sting like other products. It comes in a variety of colors. Give it a try. Razz

Hi MaryR,
No, I haven't tried Skinceuticals lip exfoliator. Is it specifically made to exfoliate the lips prior to lipstick application or is it's purpose to plump up the lips? Does it tingle at all?
Thanks for the suggestion Laughing

Where can you buy skinceuticals lip exfoliating product?

Is it better than Lipfusion?

Thanks!

Hi Cheri,
I don't know where it can be purchased in the US. Here's their website (Canadian company):
www.vitalsciencecorp.com
Hope this helps Laughing Jewellady

Hi Carekate,
I apologize because I threw out the box already. You can check out their website, but if my memory serves me correct, it doesn't list the ingredients either.
When I make another purchase, if the ingredients are listed on the box, I'll post them for you.

Thanks! That formula looks very moisturizing, but it appears that the only ingredient it contains that will (allegedly) promote plumping is the peptide. Unfortunately, itís been my experience that topical lip plumpers containing only peptide/s as its so-called ďactiveĒ ingredient do not work very well, if at all.

That said, Iíve already got a ton of lip plumpers that are Ė in actuality Ė merely great moisturizers, so Iím going to take a pass on this one for myself but Iím glad you seem to be getting a return on your investment! Very Happy

Okay, the bad news is that I caved and bought yet another topical lip plumping gloss to try even though I know they donít really work.

The good news is that this one only cost me $5.99USD at Walgreens and it actually felt and looked like it was doing something to my lips! Itís not in the same class as LipFusion, the holy grail of topical plumpers, but it works just as well Ė if not BETTER Ė then all of the other higher priced plumpers out there. And itís not one of those burning-sensation plumpers either! Instead, the sensation is cooling and sort of tingling (in a good way). It put this product in league with other more ďprestigeĒ plumpers like Lip Venom, City Lips, Plump My Pucker, Lip Injection, etc, etc, etc..

What am I talking about? Itís a new item from Sally Hansen called ďLip Inflation.Ē If nothing else, youíll find that itís one of those tenacious glosses that stays on very well for hours (a la LipFusion, though without the micro-marine collagen technology) before you need to reapply. At the moment, I believe itís only available in a clear version.

Pick up a tube next time youíre at the store, you sure as hell canít beat the price!

Carekate - I was just looking at this! I actually have the other Sally product that's called something like repair and plump and is a colored gloss with retinol in it. I really like that one too for some color, but I haven't noticed any real plumping action.

However, the retinol in it does help with exfoliation/turnover. In fact, I went to Cabo in July and was using this every day as my lip gloss. Well, with the high winds and sun there my lips got so raw b/c of the combination with the retinol that they swelled up. I know, I know, bad idea but I totally forgot it even had retinol in it since I'd been using it for so long and never had any problems. They actually looked really good but the pain was definitely not worth it! Rolling Eyes My boyfriend got a kick out of it though. Laughing

So it looks like I'll be stopping by my local CVS soon to pick this one up too!

I've heard from many sources and studies that lip plumper products dont actually work. They just give you a tingly feeling on your lips which make you feel like they are bigger, and if they do actually swell up...it is not noticably bigger.

Update: the more I use the Lip Inflation, the better I like it! In my opinion, this plumping gloss is second in effectiveness only to LipFusion! If youíve been on the fence, wondering if you should spend nearly forty bucks to try the LipFusion, then Sally Hansenís Lip Inflation is a very close facsmilie of it for less than 2/3 the cost.

One thing though: I havenít been able to find the Lip Inflation at Walmart yet, so if you canít find it then check at your local Walgreens, CVS or Ulta store.

Ditto on the Sally Hansen Lip Inflation. I do see some plumping and it really really works as a lip gloss. It's addicting. I've been using for about a week.

Okay so I got the Lip Inflation last night and did anyone else notice that the container and even font are almost identical to Lip Fusion? hmmm..

Anyway, I like the texture but I'm not so sure about the tinglies. Mine doesn't actually tingle, my lips just feel really cold. I'm used to the tinglies with lip fusion, but they go away after a few minutes. The cold feeling from the inflation lasted for hours.

Also, I didn't really notice any plumping really, but it did make my lips "look" more full and pink. I think I will have to use it a bit longer to really decide.

I was just thinking that the other day when I had my LipFusion lined up side-by-side with the Lip Inflation, the only difference is the latter has a brush applicator rather than the sponge-tipped doe-foot applicator.

As for the tingle: most other topical lip plumpers (excluding LipFusion) use cinnamon and/or cayenne pepper as the "irritant" ingredient, which causes a burning sensation as it draws the blood to the surface of your lips, thereby imparting the swollen, bee-stung red color.

Lip Inflation uses wintergreen as the main irritant ingredient which imparts a more gentle, cool and tingly sensation. For me, I've noticed that the Lip Inflation makes my lips look more pinky and flushed -- like they do after a nice, thorough kiss -- as opposed to reddened. Personally, I prefer this reaction. Also, if I accidentally apply some of the Lip Inflation outside the vermillion of my lips, it doesnít turn the skin all red and inflamed looking as happens with the cinnamon and/or cayenne pepper based plumpers.

All in all, this is a really nice product for the price!

Yep! I think if anything this will be great for one of those days when I don't want to wear any actual color, just something to look very natural...with brilliant shine of course!

Exactly...and you donít need to worry about ďrationingĒ or using it sparingly because it costs nearly forty bucks per tube!!

one more thing...

I checked out the Salley Hansen website (www.salleyhansen.com) and the "Lip Inflation" product is not even listed as one of the company's products.

Weird, eh? hmm

I promise I didn't make it up -- it really does exist! So far, I have only seen it at Walgreens. I checked my local Walmart and they didn't have it and neither does Ulta!
