I was awake most of the night last night with a cold. My mid-afternoon, I looked in the mirror at work and almost fainted with horror. I'm apparently not as resilient at 35 years of age than I was in law school when all-nighters were par for the course.
I was just a pit puffy under the eyes (as far as I could see) in the morning, but by mid-afternoon, my eyelids were heavy and my under-eyes were navy blue.
Does anyone have a good recommendation to energize a tired face, especially tired eyes? I fear I'm becoming product-obsessed with this website , so any natural remedies would be appreciated. (By the way, the natural remedies on this forum are wonderful. I'm going to buy some apple cider vinegar just to have it in stock!) |

fill your basin with really cold water, maybe add some ice cubes.
tie your hair back
take a deep breath.
plunge face into the water
don't breathe!
remove face before you drown!
follow with a gentle massage. pressing (gently!) around the eye socket helps with lymph drainage
It's cheap and it works. Don't do it too often though or you'll mess your skin up |

Hi guapagirl,
This is a great tip ... one I'm filing away for future use.
Just a couple of questions though. How will doing this "too often" mess up your skin ... and how often is "too often"?
Thanks

Guapagirl - didn't I read in another post that you recently scored an impressive academic success? (Your member name is memorable... I'm not spooky.) If that's the case, I'll lend your advice even more credence! I suspect an all-nighter or two? Congratulations if it was you. And if I lose yet another night of sleep (last night was bad, too), I'm going full speed into the sink. |
