If you want a very BASIC gel cleanser for daily use that is soap-free, oil-free, has no fragrance or color then this is the cleanser for you. It is for all skin types and especially targeted for those with sunburned, oily, acne prone and post treatment skin. For me personally, after I run out I won't purchase this again only because I prefer cream, clay, or mud cleansers as opposed to gel or foam cleansers. It's effective at removing makeup (except my eye makeup which is waterproof), but was slightly uncomfortable to use over my sensitive eyes. You get a lot for the price as it comes in a 250 ml or 8.3 oz. bottle. This is going to last me forever since I only use a drop!

Yeah, this is a very old post I’m reviving since I didn’t want to start a new thread. This is neither a RAVE nor a Bad Review; it’s just informational. I’ve been very happy with my OCM lately but, since this was a gift with my last purchase, I just had to try it.

Full name: MD Formulations Facial Cleanser Non-Glycolic Basic

Size: 8.3 oz.

Where purchased: EDS

How much? $ 19.00 CAD (This was actually a free gift as the gift I requested was out of stock.)

Company’s Description Info:

Description:
This MD. Formulations Facial Cleanser is for any skin type. Gentle and soap-free, this light lathering cleanser rinses away daily residue, makeup and oil.

Skin Types:
oily

Ingredients:
Purified Water (Aqua), Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Ammonium Chloride, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Recommended Usage:
Apply a small amount to the palm of the hand. Massage over skin. Add water. Remove with clean washcloth and splash several times with warm water. Pat dry with towel.

My skin type: Normal to combination with tendency to dehydration if I don’t pay attention.

My Results:
I was a bit skeptical at first. Maybe you know how it is – you’re happy with your current product and if you receive something free, as I did, then you don’t expect very much. Don’t know why that is. Anyway, I use my face for patch tests. I know a normal person would use the inside of their arm or anywhere other than their face but, noooo, not me. So, I had some breakouts. My PSF O2 Serum was really helping with this but, for some reason this time, these particular breakouts weren’t drying up fast enough.

This is a non-glycolic cleanser but it certainly felt like something similar was in there. It really burned those breakouts the first time I washed with it. The next morning those pesky marks were reduced. It wasn’t a tremendous change as far as redness goes, but they were dried up and on their way to healing and I had some “big-time” exfoliation going on in several areas—not all over, you understand, just certain areas like my nose, chin, cheeks. Now, this isn’t a particularly desirable effect if you aren’t looking for more exfoliation but I think I probably needed it in those areas since it didn’t exfoliate my forehead or near my jawline.

Conclusion:
It’s going to take quite awhile to go through this huge bottle and I won’t be using it everyday. But, still, at some point, I think I will actually purchase it.

Ari
