For those of you that have Rosacea, do you feel that you tend to get more and intense flare ups in the winter (when the temp. is colder) than in the summer (when the temp. is warmer)? Isn't that weird? I guess it's probably due to the fact that when you're outside in the cold, and then the rush of warm air indoors is too overwhelming. As for me, that's what usually happens...especially my nose! And I tend to blush way more easily in the winter than in the summer. In the summer, my face is perfectly fine...it's so pale! Geez...does anyone have any perfect techniques in controlling the flare ups? Or is there something in the winter that makes the condition worse? Any suggestions are good! Thanks a lot! |

I am fairly new to figuring out rosacea so I don't know how much I can help. Mine is weather related, but seems to be opposite of you. I tend to get more pustules in any warm situations; warm summer day, highly heated winter room. Therefore, I predict summer is more difficult for me because with the projected heating costs in the US, we won't be heating as much as last year. As far as redness, I don't officially flush, just have more redness if I am over-irritating my skin with products. Don't think I answered your questions, but wanted to respond.
Also, seems like there is no perfect cure, all cases seem to be unique, but maybe someone else has suggestions. |

I am fine in the summer as long as there is air conditioning...if not, my cheeks turn really pink/red and its really uncomfortable. Its evil in the winter because some places tend to overheat and when being really cold then feeling hot air all over me makes my nose turn red too...its weird..either my nose will turn red or itll stay cold and normal and my cheeks will turn red. Good example was yesterday at school when I got out of a class...I was wearing red too (which is evil when you get a flare up). I was hot in a class and i went to the bathroom and my cheeks were flushed...then i went to my next class and it took awhile but it went away. I dressed super warm because the building usually is really cold, but i guess they decided that day to crank up the heat! |

Thanks for replying
I guess I'm the same as you purpleturtle. My face is fine when there's air conditioning. That's one of the reason why I hate winter so much cuz they turned the heat so high up And my nose will get red so easily out in the cold. Sigh....I hate it!! |
