I've been using tinted moisturizer lately, but wanted to try going back to my MMU. I do like the coverage I get from it, but I'm having trouble making it look natural.
I've tried both BE & LBD (La Bella Donna) and tend to prefer LBD. Regardless of which one I use, my face looks terribly dry after I apply it, even after moisturizing like heck before application.
Do any of you dry-skinned lasses have any secrets on a flawless application? I'm sure the problem is in my technique, not the product, but I don't feel I can wear it like this. Thanks in advance for your help!!! |

Thanks lbertaut. Maybe it is the wrong color for me...
I'll need to check out the quiz on the site you recommended. Thanks for your help. |

lbertaut - Linda, please be very careful about what you post here. While your experience is more than welcome, you own the site you're promoting in almost each of your posts and you keep plugging your products but you have not admitted to owning the site, even when directly asked, and therefore having a conflict of interest. Others may perceive you as a "regular user" who is just recommending good products - when they find out that you own the company that changes to deceiving others and getting a financial gain out of it. |

My skin is very dry. While i have better luck wearing sunscreen under my mineral makeup (glides on), when i dont have sunscreen under and am using my makeup for evening wear, i find it easier to GENTLY brush it over my skin, opposed to how they tell you to kind of dab it...when i push then glide, i get my makeup stuck on dry patches..when its stroked on a little at a time, its very natural, and doesnt make me look dry at all. |

Thanks for the tip Purpleturtle! I'll have to try to lightly glide it on.
I'm new to MMU, so I've only used the BE technique with their Kabuki brush, and find that to be fairly harsh on my skin because of the not-so-soft bristles. My skin will probably like me doing it your way a bit better. I've also got the Aromaleigh brush coming in the mail, so hopefully that will help a bit too.
Thanks again! |

hi marmur1
Do you exfoliate on a regular basis? I get dry skin sometimes and when I do, my make up looks awful if I don't exfoliate. A facial brush is good, or even just 5 minutes of gentle rubbing with a washcloth.
You could also try mixing some MMU into your moisturizer (just in your hand) to apply like liquid foundation. I use oil recently, to moisturize with and find that if I wait about 20 minutes, then blot the excess, then apply my minerals, it looks good. As well, I never really like the BE Kabuki for foundation. It works well for Jurlique Silk Dust though...Anyway, for foundation I have had the best results with the BE Flawless foundation brush. I hope the Aromaleigh one works well for you!! |

Hi Faith,
Thanks so much for your suggestions!!! Yes, I do exfoliate with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant...it's the only thing I've been able to use because my skin is super sensitive. I just tried a new product that was a little harsher than I expected, so now I've got a few scaly patches to deal with for the next few weeks.
I've read about adding MMU to moisturizer on the boards but I haven't tried it yet, so I should give that a try as well. It might be a must until the patches go away. Thanks again! |
