Could anyone tell me if Bare escentuals foundation is any good? does it cover well and does it clog pores? is the light 01 light enough for very pale skin? i would be very grateful for any replies.
Thanks

Bare Escentuals is one of the best natural mineral make-up lines. All of the mineral make-up brands are non-comedogenic and they will not clogg your pores.
#1 is the lightes color available and it will go perfectly with the most pale skn. I would use veil together with #1

How does the Bare Escentuals foundation compare with the Jane Iredale? I noticed that it's a lot more inexpensive. Why is that?

Thanks!

I just received my bare essentials foundation kit, and am I ever impressed. I have to admit I haven't tried it yet. However, our 27 year old daughter, who is a beautiful young woman who unfortunately has pitted skin from teenage acne just tried mine today, and both her father and I were absolutely stunned by the coverage. Where she is always gorgeous (not just a mom talking ... and fortunately that is inside as well as out!) ... she looked absolutely stunning! WOW! I look forward to trying it myself ... I never, never try the promotions on TV ... in fact, I never watch them ... and I just happened to flip over to HGTV and there was the infommercial ... and for some reason it got to me from the first. I told my husband that I thought I would try it, and fortunately, I am blessed as he is always supportive, and he told me to go for it, if I wanted it. However, he didn't think it would be as wonderful either ... he, too, is looking forward to my trying it, as my skin is just getting older, and no longer has that youthful glow!

I have an oily t-zone and this product did not work for me. It just sat in my pore and made them look larger than they are. I also felt it built up too much in the oily areas of my face. I've had much better luck with Smashbox Halo as a mineral powder foundation.

I like MMU but dont like bare escentuals. I find it is too shiney and the bismuth also irriates my skin.

IMO there are far better MMU formulas out there. I like Lumiere, Meow Cometics and Lauress.

I've used Bare Minerals for about 5 years with great results. I goes on with ease and covers well. Some times when my rosacea is in full force, I'll use liquid makeup with Bare Minerals as a finishing powder. Works great.

BE is the only MMU foundation I've tried. Although I like it generally, it seems heavy right after application but after maybe 2 hours it starts to settle in the skin.

Bare Minerals caused my skin to dry out. At first, it worked great (and the coverage was fantastic), but over time, I found my face getting itchy as the day wore on (no matter which moisturizer I used). Once I nixed BM, by skin rebalanced. If I'm going to use a mineral powder, i prefer Smashbox Halo, even if it costs twice as much.

However, my mother loves Bare Minerals and swears by it. To each their own, I suppose.

I've worn it for year... no problems... got lots of compliments with it... I don't tend to breakout MUCH in the first place (now I'll probably have a pimple first thing in the morning for saying that...) never 'caused any unusual breakouts...

I used it for a few years and it was great (Sometimes shiny, but I was ok with that). I recently stumbled upon Pure Anada mineral makeup and prefer that! It's not shiny and I think it lasts longer during the day.

I love the look of Bare Escentuals, but it doesn't love me -- the bismuth gives me cystic acne breakouts.

I'm now using Perfect Minerals, which is bismuth-free.
