Any recommendations for a good vegan (i.e., synthetic made with no animal hairs) make up brush for applying loose powder or loose foundation? Thank-you Smile

So I guess I am looking for a good Taklon face brush since I think Taklon and nylon are the only synthetic alternatives. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, will synthetic brushes work with mineral makeup? thanks!Smile

I would normally suggest the B.E. or M.A.C brushes for value & quality, but I know you're looking for completely synthetic brushes. We do not sell this line, but Urban Decay's brushes are all synthetic, made from Taklon. I've played with their brushes before, and for a synthetic line, they're pretty nice. These are conducive to all make-up, including mineral based products. You may want to check Body Shop too, but from what I recall, the brushes that I saw about 7 years ago weren't very high quality, and I think that they used goat's hair in one:( Poor, little, bald goaties!!!

Hi Thoughtcrime,

I have MAC192 brush to use with cheek stuff, more for emollient based ones, I don't know if it can work well with powder, but it's a really good synthetic brush. I also have JI Camouflage 10 brush which I love and use everyday with the JI circle/delete, this is the best brush to use on your eye areas and eventhough it's made of synthetic fibre, it's just as soft as silk. And of course, the JI eye liner which I still don't know how to use properly.

A little bit off topic, my new bang is really cool...:P, and I can wear it down playfully or side part it sophisticately but I need a good hair gel to hold the style longer. Do you have any favorite one, as long as it's unscented and it won't give me any more break out on my forehead, I'd love to try.:P:P:P

Leiladao, thanks for the brush recommendations!

About hair gel... i don't use any gels, but I'm sure there are others here who will know of a good one. I prefer pomeades and Aveda brilliant emollient finishing gloss (love this!). You can see I love products that make you're hair shiny. Joico Brilliantine broke me out cause it's so waxy/greasy and fragrant!
