Hi everybody
I've been lurking for two weeks now and I want to apologize in advance for bringing up the same ole topic.
Ok the first time I've heard about Vit. C serums was on here (THANKS )
But I haven't purchased a single brand because they are all so d@mn expensive.
The only one that I found that was of a reasonable price is Jason's C-Light Skin Tone. Has anyone tried that brand?
I also read all the cool aspirin mask ideas , and I have tried those but I am itching to try the vit. c serums. I was so desperate to find out what vit. c would do to my skin, I opened up a puritan pride brand capsule (which contained soybean oil, gelatin, glycerin, lecithin and beewax) and put it on my face
I read that vitamin c is supposed to give you a tingling sensation, I don't know what I felt but became nervous because I also read that applying the capsules directly to your skin may cause burning. So maybe the sensations I had were psychological Well, after I applied the capsule I rubbed a little bit of vit. e and jojoba oil into my skin. The next morning, my skin appeared smoother and some what brighter. Again maybe it was just my imagination. Has anyone else dared to be so bold
Oh yeah, my skin type:
38 yr old beautiful rich chocolate and I'm guessing combination and I do have uneven skin. My forhead is darker than the rest of my face. Acne flair ups during that time of the month and whenever Does it ever end |

Hi Madison,
Welcome out of "lurk" mode!
Have you read the DIY thread? There is a super recipe for Vitamin C serum. It's easy to make ... inexpensive ... and works great! If you make it out of l-ascorbic acid crystals and straight water, you'd have to make a new batch every day ... but if you make it with water and glycerine or propylene glycol you only have to remake it weekly. Still ... you can make months and months of vitamin C serums and still not spend very much money.
I've been making it for a couple of months now and I have noticed a difference from using it!
I'd encourage you to try the DIY version, see if you like it ... and it might even encourage you to try some of the other DIY recipes [mostly provided by our CareKate who has compiled some fabulous home crafted products!] ... and that's when you can really save money!
Have fun!
Mary |

hey madison,
The cellularskin rx vitamin c+ serum (sold on the EDS site) is an effective version that won't break the bank..Plus, I haven't had any reactions to it (which is RARE)! I haven't tried the Jason stuff before, let me know what you think of it. |

I'm with Lianne on the CSRx being perhaps the most economical C serum while still being very stable. I just find that it's not for me because I don't like the oilier texture but I have just bought this for my mum who has dry skin.
Re: Jason. I'm not sure about their serum as I haven't tried, but they don't get reviewed too well in general. Are you taling about the C-Light Skin Tone Balancer though? That has gotten good reviews so far. Jason do have one product that I have been eyeing for absolute ages but can't get it in Australia - Vita-C Max One Minute Facial. It's apparently fantastic... that reminds me yet again that I need to try to get this somehow. |
