I came across this site when I was doing research on apple cider vinegar, and I wanted to pass this on. We all know the health benefits of ACV for joint health, improved digestion, cleansing the body of toxins, and weight loss. But also it can also help lower cholesterol, and I do need to lower mine. It is suggested that one take 2 oz. of this "recipe" after breakfast. It's called "Jogging in a Jug" and is purported to lower cholesterol. Here it is:
4 oz. purple grape juice (not white)
4 oz. apple juice
1 oz. apple cider vinegar
I have just begun this regimen, so I will let you know how this works. You can hardly taste the ACV! It is suggested that you check with your doctor before trying to make sure there are no personal factors that might be deleterious to you. |

My father is in fantastic shape......plays tennis, golf, bowls, and is active in little theatre. He is 78.
He has been taking a teaspoon of ACV in a cup of water, everday, for I don't know how long. I tried to force myself to do this many times and always end stopping after a day or two because it tastes so awful!!!
It just never occured to me to mix it with juice to make it more palatable!!(duh!)
What a great tip....thanks for sharing! |

Wow -- looks interesting! It even seems like it would be rather tastey, to me. I don't really mind the taste of ACV. |

I wonder if the apple juice is mandatory? Because I absolutely loathe and despise the taste of apple juice – which is ironic because I adore eating fresh apples! But even as a little kid, I couldn’t stomach the taste of plain ole apple juice, so maybe I’ll try the above recipe, but use twice as much grape juice so I can scratch the apple! |

I think any juice would work. My great uncle is in his late 70s too and has taken ACV everday for the last 40 years he says, he's very active, canoes and walks a lot and he looks not a day over 55. I tried taking it, gag!!! And I don't like juice of any kind, I'm a strictly coffee or water drinking gal. To me juice is like drinking liquid sugar (even unsweetened) and I don't have the patience, energy or time to make my own.
I have taken it in gel caps but can't get it here. All I have to do though is travel an hour and a half north to Costco. I had to go soon too before the snow falls. |

I bet you could substitute just about any juice for the apple juice, probably the most important ingredient is the ACV -- though I do know that apples aid in digestion. Maybe eat an apple after you drink it for the same effect. |

I'm new to posting thoughts, but here goes. I have been taking Apple Cider Vinegar 2T w/1/4teaspoon of Banking Soda in 1/4 to 1/2 cup water three times a day to get blood pressure down, not sure that it is working to well. But I'm not on meds yet for it. However, I have been on Thyroid meds for 25 years and all of a sudden my TSH level has gone down. The doctor lowered my Synthroid presc...from .125 to .112 this past week. I assume this is due to the intake of the ACV above. Has anyone else experienced a drop in their TSH level using ACV? |

Great idea! It can't hurt. I haven't heard anyone post side-effects! |
