Hi, Can anyone tell me how you know if a product has gone bad? I've just received a moisture defense spray and it has a stale smell, as if it had been sitting in the drawer for years. I've been ordering from this site and have recommended it to a lot of my friends too. I don't suppose this site would send me any expired products. If so, I would be so disappointed. Can anyone tell me? Thanks. |

Hi April,
Well this is probably not the right place to post the question, I'm guessing if you contact the spa directly they would be able to give you advice and reply to you quicker than on here. I doubt very much that they would send you old stock. First, because I've had quite a few orders here and their customer service and products have always been superb. Second, because with all us product junkies on this forum I'm thinking their stock turnaround must be pretty quick :P
But seriously, I don't know if smell is the best way to tell if a product is old, though with some products it may be a good indicator. I recently cleaned up my bathroom and got rid of a lot of old stuff which smelt exactly the same as it did before.
Brands such as Dermalogica, MD Formulations or Peter Thomas Roth, for example, tend to make effective products and not focus on making them smell very nice (like say Soothys or Orlane) because often fragrances are what cause allergic reactions in people with sensitive skins. That's my take on the situation anyway.
If smell is the only thing you have to go by and the smell really bothers you then go into any salon that stocks the product and spray their tester to see if there is a difference.
