Hey Everyone,

I used to get facials at this Japanese place and the ladies would always extract the blackheads on my nose by pushing them out with their fingers. So before I discovered this forum and started the DIY recipes, I would self extract these blackheads. I noticed that with the DIY recipes, my pores have shrunken but the blackheads are still there.

My question is...is it ok for me to continue extracting these blackheads? Or would these DIY recipes through time get rid of them?
Confused
TIA,
Anna

the black heads on your nose, are the pores open when you've extracted them? If so you can only try and keep them clean.

Which DIY recipes have you been using? I've found that when I use the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream I don't actually have to squeeze out anything - it just kinda magically goes away. However, I don't think it's bad to squeeze out blackheads as long as you do it when your pores are open and as long as you're gentle and only ease out the "ready" ones. Afterwards, doing a cold compress might help to close the pores up.

Cool thanks Mabsy. Hmm...maybe I'm not pressing and rolling correctly on my nose with the homemade CC. How do u do it? Although I do see it noticeably clearer on my nose, the other night it looked pretty bad.

U know although I see a drastic improvement in the tone and texture of my skin, I still get my occassional breakouts. It's not a huge breakout but just 1-3 pimples a week. They're not big or anything but they are annoying. Mabsy, your profile said that u have occassional breakouts. Even after properly caring for your face, u still get them? I think it might be hormonal. Sad Mad

Thanks,
Anna

If you're seeing a difference then I'd say you're doing it right Smile I actually tend to concentrate on the nose area so that might give me better results - or maybe it's just a difference in the skin.

I can go for long stretches without getting any breakouts - like for example a month or so. But mostly I do get the odd pimple every few weeks. I think it's an issue that depends on a few things. Sometimes, these pimples come up becasue I saw something that looked like a bump and I squeezed it and it didn't appreciate it Smile Other times I don't provoke anything and it still happens. It might be hormonal or product related I guess.
