Hmm... this product was a real hit-miss for me. Loved the no-fragrance formula, and it works into the skin very quickly. However, I am most definitely not so keen on the silicone feel of the product. It may leave my skin soft, but I just can't ignore the slip it leaves on my fingers -- though I'm sure, being Dermalogica, it wouldn't clog pores. All the same, I'm tempted to use the remainder on my hair Wink

Hi Sable! *waves* Very Happy

So are we talking the same effect that you get from say Estee Lauder Idealist? A silicony type product that is supposed to smooth out your skin (temporarily)?

Do you know by any chance if the Barrier Repair has silicone in it? Or it just feels like it does? I was considering getting this for my mum a while back and now you've just reminded me about it Smile

Mabsy.

So sorry for the late reply! I've been very busy of late, little time for myself or my skin! I'll list the ingredients for you...

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicine Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citrus Mdecia Limonum Extract, Fumaria Officinalis Extract, Fumaric Acid, Butyrospermum Parkii Oil, Denothera Biennis Oil, Ascorbyl Parmitate, Bisabolol, Butylene Glycol Propylparaben.

Hope there are no errors there! I'm in a bit of a rush Very Happy

I'm guessing the first ingredient is a silicone Wink Hope that helps, Mabsy!

Not at all, Mabsy Wink

Oh, and I never answered your question regarding EL's Idealist! Sorry, but I'm not very familiar with that brand, nor its products Very Happy

Hi! I had tried both EL and Derma and is sticking to the latter cos the former brand broke me out!!! Mad Barrier repair is kinder to the skin and helps calms the pimples whereas EL feeds my pimples till they are filled with pus!! Sad

Hope this helps! Wink

I really like the Dermalogica Barrier Repair -- I do a lot of sailing and gardening, and my skin really took a beating last summer because of the sun and wind. After a wonderful spa day in January, when woman giving me my facial said gently -- "you need to take care of this skin, you know", I got onto a better regimen of skin care, which includes the BR. I use it before sailing, along with sun block, and I use it afterwards, along with a little Dermalogica gentle soothing booster.

Just a note: I'm 40 years old, with rosecea (and acne prone all my life) and very sensitive, pale skin.
