If you have a regular derm you can go by and get a cortisone shot in it. If not try ice,a dab of prep H, not touching it (which keeps it inflamed by friction), or taking a prednisone, benadryl or doxycline in a pinch if you have some laying around (we do for allergic reactions), all can help the swelling go down. By Friday it might be fine, but if it's cystic sometimes they don't heal until the inflammation comes to the top (dealt with those for a long time), that's why the derm is always the best bet with that type. Maybe others have some swore by secret for making them disappear faster. Best of luck. |

Try dabbing some tea tree oil on it with a qtip. Not sure how fast it will disappear but the size does reduce.
Good luck,

I've only tried the benadryl orally. Keep the ice on it. I wonder if meat tenderizer takes the swelling down? I know we keep it on hand for bites. (I live in a rural area of the Texas Hill country and we have all manner of poisonous creepy-crawlies) Does anyone know? |

Here is my secret that I swear by:
After cleaning/washing your face, dab the pimple with apple cider vinegar….yup, 100% vinegar. It might sting a bit but trust me! Just be careful on how long you hold this to your pimple b/c it will dry out your skin! And if you are prone to dry skin then really be careful. Ok, next step is to put 10% glycolic acid with 2% sylic acid. Or if you only have the sylic acid (Clear & Clear has a little tub that you can buy at any drugstore or grocery store for about $4) that works too.
Do this every morning and every night and it will be gone by Friday I promise! But don’t forget to moisturize b/c this is really drying to the skin and you don’t want your chin flaking on Friday!
Good luck girlfriend!
PS: I hardley have break outs once I started using ACV toner. And I even use this remedy on my husband when he gets a pimple. |

I too would have sugsted the Apple Cider Vinegar and/or Tea Tree Oil. Also Lavender Essential oil dabbed on works too. |

I've found the soak and pack method to work. Since I've been using ACV and tretinoid cream I've had very few pimples.
Soak the pimple using a cotton ball soaked in ACV toner and banddaid it in
place. After several hours it should be very soft. Then use a clay mask overnight (I use queen Helena) with maybe a bit of salicylic acid or aspirin. Then I use ACV again and a dollup of antibiotic cream to promote healing.
Good Luck. |
