Hello everyone,
I just recieve a package with Dr Hauschka Clarifying Toner, Eye Contour Day Balm,Normalizing Day Oil,and Cleansing Cream. I have allergies to many different things (there are so many of them ), so I did test the product on my hand. In 2 minutes I had an allergic reaction. My hand is itching and become all red. I have blisters on the top of everything I was hopping that D. H. will work for me, but...
My friend said that she had the same reaction on the begining, and with time she could use the product with good results. I don't believe that. Once you are allergic to something it will never just go away. How can you continue to use it if you have blisters from it? Doesn't make sence to me.
Does anyone had similar reaction? If you also have allergies to botanical extracts (like calendula) what product do you use
Please, share your experience.
Thanks |

You poor thing.
Yes there have been quite a few on the boards who have had reactions to the Dr Hauschka, will you be able to get a refunded?
If not maybe someone you know would appreciate some Dr Hasuchka for Christmas. |

Allergies can go away. However, since you had such a severe reaction what's the point of continuing? You might end up being very sorry if you slather it all over your face!! I had a very very mild breakout after starting dr h which did go away, but that is nothing like having red and itchy skin!! |

I wouldn't try to use it. I have a lot of allergies too, and it is serioulsy not worth it, IMO. Maybe try to do a swap with someone if they won't give you a refund. |

Did you try one product at a time or all at once? Could be that is was just too strong combined and maybe one of the products might be fine, I don't know. I have sensitive skin too, many products do not suit me, but I've never had a reaction with any of their products. Hate to hear it. |

Hi AnnieR,
I did the test separately: I have a special instrument to make a slight insection on the skin(it sounds scary but it is exactly how allergologyst would make the test )Also, I'm MD, so I know how to do to it. I didn't mix the creams all together, because I wanted to know which cream exactly I will react or not. What allergies do you have? |

Well you were certainly thorough and looks like you gave it all very careful consideration. It is such a shame the products didn't work out for you. I'm not exactly sure of all I am allergic to but I think some argeline(?) and copper peptide products, anything with niacin, and some plant extracts. I am just now trying the Decleor Essential Balm and I am breaking out so I am not sure about that or maybe the timing of it. |

Hi BCgirl,
I just ordered Dermalogica Eye Repair. I asked for the samples of Dermalogica product, may be they will send them. I had to put Dr. Hauschka's product in the garbage, because I tried it on my hand and they take back only if it is new. |

One thing you might try is to find an Dermalogica anestician in your area. Often they will let you try some samples before you come in so you don't get a full blown reaction while you are on the table. Just call and make an appointment for a brief consultation. |

sorry to hear that you had to throw all that stuff in the garbage.
I agree with Gwynnie, you should find a salon or store around your area that sells dermalogica products. They will give you samples and tell u wats good for ur sensitive skin. I also use the gentle soothing booster by dermalogica to reduce redness on my skin and thats very good also for sensitive skin |

My friend who is an acupuncturist does something she calls "clearing" on people to help them with allergies, but you really should avoid products you are allergic to. I suggest checking my post of organic brands and going to websites like bewellstaywell.com where you can order samples of products very cheap. What skin-type do you have and what kind of products are you looking for? |

Hello Happyhippie,
I have very sensitive skin, sometimes dry, sometimes oily. My pores are little open, but it depends on the time of the year, humidity and so on. Most of the time my skin has redness. I am looking for the eye creams, moisturizers and so on that my skin can tolerate. I will check the sites you suggested!
Thanks |

Hello BCgirl and Gwynnie!
I checked for a salon or aestetician that have Dermalogica products, but I don't think I will find one in Montreal It is strange, but I can't find place where they would have Cellcosmet or Valmont product ! |

Lara1 this is late, but I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Dr Hauschka (been there with other products, though not as bad)
Have your received your Dermalogica samples? I do have sensitive skin, too, but I don't have to use their sensitive line, their products are all very safe, in my experience. |

I ordered from EDS Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair (haven't received yet). I want to try the Eye cream first, then if I don't get bad reaction I will order everything else. May be they will send some samples( they usually do ) |

It is Dr. Hauschka's policy to refund customers who have allergic reactions to their products. I would call or email Dr. Hauschka and tell them that this company would not refund your money. www.drhauschka.com 800-247-9907 |

Hello Abejita,
I didn't know that you can call them directly! At the place that I bought the product from someone told me that Dr. Hauschka don't accept returns even if I had an allergic reaction. I was so sad when on the top of my bad reaction to the product they refused to refund my money that I decided to get rid of all these allergens anyway. |

Sounds like your skin needs balancing and to cleanse itself from any reactions (if I were you I'd avoid anything with chemicals and parabens for a while and see how your skin changes...but it's up to you)
If you dare to try Dr. Hauschka again, their Rythmic night conditioner is EXCELLENT! Get the one for sensitive skin...and get it from a european website where it's half the price. Check ingredients online.
Use a cleansing Milk to clean your face- Jurlique has one for hypersensitive skin, or just use a oil (I'm guessing nut-oils might be an allergen for you, so try just Jojoba oil).
As a toner, you can get pure whitch hazel without alcohol.
Sanandra at seachi.com is a medical intuitiv and makes the purest organic skincreams, maybe you can call her up and have her create some creams especially for you!
Also bewellstaywell.com has good body-care and sells samples for $1!
Good luck, give natural a chance!

I would definitely call (or you can email them through the website, look under contact us) They have some very nice skin care consultants and they are very careful about the retailers they choose. I am sure that they would not be very happy to hear about how you are being treated.
good luck! |

I will not take another chance and try Dr. Hauschka again. One time was enough! |

I checked Jurlique product, it also has a lot of botanical extracts . I better try the samples from EDS (I ordered Dermalogica's eye cream, may be they include some samples). I liked the description of the Jurlique, it seems like a nice product.
Where do you buy whitch hazel without alcohol?
Thanks |

ps. maybe you can get dr.H to send you the rythmic night conditioner for free, since you got an allergic reaction to the other products...? Just an idea... |
