I just had a small mole removed from under my eye (about 1cm from the lower lash line). It appears to be healing fairly well, but I want to minimize the scarring. I just got the stitches out today, so I was wondering what you all would recommend.

I was thinking vitamin E oil, some sort of vitamin K cream, or maybe something like Mederma.

Can anyone recommend a product? I have oily, acne prone skin.

Thanks!

Interesting. Did you have it removed because you were concerned about it or because you just didn't like it? I ask because I also have one, sounds like mine is in the same place yours was too. As I've always had it I'm used to it but I have wondered if I would look better without it. Smile

Anyway, I tried Mederma on a scar and it did absolutely nothing whatsoever! Decleor Prolagene gel is very good at removing scarring although you have to give it a while to work, several months. Can you get Bio Oil over there? I used that on my hubby who had a scar on his forehead after an accident and the scar is bearly noticeable now.

Hope that helps.

At my mother's insistence I had a full mole survey done by the dermatologist last month.

The derm said that it was probably nothing to worry about, but since it differed in shape and color (it was much darker) from all my other moles she recommended removing and testing it just to be safe.

I'm 27 and tanned a lot when I was younger, and have lots of moles and freckles. I like them, and haven't ever considered removing them for cosmetic reasons.

I have had 2 other moles removed in the past on doctor's recommendations--one was fine (shoulder, left a bad scar) and one was "abnormal" (webbing between fingers) so I went ahead and had this one removed so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

I've never heard of Bio-Oil--is that something you can get at a health food store? I'll google it. Thanks for your response Smile

decleor's prolegene gel is great for scarring but you must give at at least 2/3 months...but it does work.
