Hi Makeuplover,

I am 54 and did have oily skin, with blackheads, breakouts etc.

I began using OCM in August and within 3 weeks had no visible blackheads, my acne had virtually disappeared and my skin had become far less oily. It's almost "normal" now.

That said, when the weather began to get colder, and the heat in the house was on, I did have a minor breakout ... as I always do ... but this year it was far less severe and didn't last nearly as long as in other years.

I suspect that I'll experience the same thing come spring when the weather gets warmer and the heat in the house isn't on much ... but again I suspect it won't be as severe or last as long.

The key is that OCM is a cleansing method, and ensuring that your skin is clean is just the first step to solving your skin care problems. The second step is addressing the internal/external causes of problems.

I have to also say that I have used ACV toner and aspirin mask [see Carekate's recipe in the DIY section] since August as well ... and these additions have also been a huge help.

As for crows feet ... well ... we're bound to have them now that we're in our 50's ... but I have consistently used a Vitamin E eye cream along with homemade Vitamin C serum and my crows feet aren't nearly so pronounced anymore.

If you don't mind spending money, AlphaDerma's DermaExcel 7 certainly helps reduce the depth of more severe lines ... and the results are very quick in showing up.

There's lots of good advice here ... and what it probably boils down to is:

1. Do you have sufficient disposable income to purchase elaborate skin care products

or

2. Do you prefer the DIY approach to skin care.

Even if I had sufficient disposable income to purchase products, I would probably make my own ... because I just like not spending the cash on products that may or may not work for me. After all ... I've been doing that for years. Laughing

Good luck

Mary
