God, there´s so many "which colours suit you" sites out there, but for some reason none of them seem to have options for my fair (neutral) skintone, dark hair and green eyes. I´d really appreciate it if some of you knowledgeable ladies could give me a few pointers as to what coulours I should use. Nothing to flashy though. Pictures are welcome Wink

Cheers

Hi Sharkbait,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "what colours"?

For instance, are you looking for a very general overview of what usually suits your particular complexion/hair colour/eye colour ... or are you looking for the names of specific names of colours within a particular makeup brand?

And ... are you looking for foundation colours ... or specifically eye makeup colours?

I personally think that there are a wide range of colours and tones that "suit" every person ... but much boils down to the sort of lifestyle that you lead ... what you do for a living ... how comfortable you are with makeup in general ... what colours make you "feel" good. It also depends upon whether or not you're talking "casual", "business" or "gala evening out" ... Confused

There could be looks and techniques that I might think look great on you ... but you might feel very uncomfortable wearing them.

As you can see ... your seemingly simple request has become a behemoth that requires simplification. Laughing

Now it could just be me who has no idea where to begin in answering your questions ... but if you can narrow down the variables somewhat ... I know I'd appreciate it! Very Happy

Mary

Embarassed Who knew that there were so many options.
The general overview would be good Wink

I was thinking about a daylook and an evening look.
I´m not comfortable with too much makeup, but a bit more than a tinted moisturizer would be good. Smile And product recs would be great!

Sounds like we have very similar coloring except that my skin is slightly pink. I'm not a big fan of flashy colors, either. For your eyes I'd recommend a taupe, camel, or purple eyeshadow to bring out the color of your eyes, definitely topped with black mascara. For lips I use muted red/pink colors, but I have to avoid bright lipstick because of full lips -- if you have normal sized lips I think a nice deep red would look beautiful with your coloring.

I have your same eye and hair coloring but medium skin tone. Ask for the neutral shades which are usually the natural looking, classic makeup colors, people use for daytime looks. The taupes, light greys, gold & cinnamon shades are what look good with my green eyes.

pinks and taupes are your best bet. They suit almost everyone and their application is quite forgiving. Spice it up for night with an intense coloured eyeliner like purple.

If there's any brand of makeup you like I recommend going to the counter for a makeover. Warning, if you go to MAC be sure to specify NOT FLASHY or you'll end up looking like a christmas ornament.
