I use Dr. H products (and OCM) and in the product guides it says not to use anything (other than night conditioners) on your face at night. I did a series of rhythmic night conditioners and have not been using anything on my face at night and my skin is crazy dry! I use Rose Day Cream and I love it but this is a pretty thick cream and my face still feels/looks and is dry. I normally have an oily tzone and even that is peeling. The nights that I sleep with the Dr. Rejuvinating mask on I am not dry at all the next day but I know that I am not "supposed" to sleep in it every night. I use aromaleigh glissade minerals that are for dry skin and I mix it with my moisturizer which is better than applying with a brush if you have dry skin in my opinion becasue you are not dragging anything along your face. I have the Dr. H toner (clarifying) but I have opted for using my witchhazel as a toner because it really helps with the milia. For awhile I was sleeping in Aloe Vera gel which does help a bit but my face still feels tight. Has anyone else had this problem...? Does anyone use the other Dr. H toner for dry skin...did you notice a difference?
Any help is appreciated! |

Hi Olivia
I had exactly the same problem when I started using Dr H, especially for the first month or so. I used the ampules at night for the first 28 days, now I'm using the Dr Hauschka Facial Toner, which I really like (it has a lovely smell), but I'm not sure that it really helps the dryness. How long have you been using Dr H?
The dryness has improved since my skin has become more accustomed to no moisturiser at night, but I still feel that my skin could be a little less dry.
I spoke a salesperson at a beauty counter who said that Dr H products might be too "active" for my sensitive skin (?). Is your skin sensitive too?
I am going to stick to the no-moisturiser routine for now, as the appearance of my skin has really improved since starting on the Dr H regime, but I might try a different brand of day cream to see if that helps.
Hope you get your dryness sorted out.
Cheers

Thanks for your post. I think I will try the toner. I have been using the line for about 3 months. I had heard that your face usually adjusts after a month but I gave it a bit longer because the colder months really dry out my skin anyway. I did notice that it got better after a month or so but it is still so dry during the day. I think I am going to bring a toner to work to spritz.
I really like the rose day cream...
Thanks!

The Facial Toner is very nice. That's a good idea to use as a spritz during the day, I might try that myself, thanks for the tip!
Cheers
