Hi
I was looking at the skin biology web site and noticed this receives a bit of criticism that it damages the skin in the long term(breaking down skin proteins or something)This concerned me a bit because I finally found a serum I really like(estee lauder advanced night repair)which is improving my skin and it has hyaluronic acid in it. I was wondering if anyone else had opinions on this? And who is this dr.pickard? He seems to criticise alot of products including La roche posay sunscreens which I though were meant to be one of the best around.
Thanks Very Happy

dr p on skinbio is very biased toward his own products. He also posted some incorrect information on the msg board. Take his advice with a big grain of salt.

Maybe I’m being deliberately obtuse, but I don’t understand how a substance (hyaulronic acid) that parts of one’s body are naturally *comprised* of could be damaging in the long run...? I haven’t done a lot of research regarding hyaluronic acid and its benefits for any other part of the body then the lips, but I know that our lip tissue is actually composed solely of collagen and hyaluronic acid. So is this cat saying that hyaluronic acid is one of the causes of the aging process, in that it causes the break down of skin’s proteins? That really makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! This doctor sounds about as impartial as our dear Paula Whatshername, the self-proclaimed Cosmetic’s Cop.... Rolling Eyes

In the meantime, I’ll keep taking my little HA/collagen pills and blow pouty kisses to myself in the mirror while I admire my lush, pillowy lips! Eat your heart out, Dr. P. Very Happy
