What do you think of MAC“s mascaras? Would love some input and info on what your experiences and thoughts are... |

Hi Ruth, I have a MAC Pro Lash Mascara in Brown Black, it's OK nothing special. I do find with MAC Mascara's you have to wipe the wand quite a bit with a tissue before application so as not to get the clogged eye lash look.
The staying power is excellent and it never smudges.
However when it comes to Mascaras, I really think it's not worth spending that much on them as due to cleanliness and the risk of infection I tend to only keep mine for a couple of months then I like to buy a fresh one. |

Hi. I once have used a MAC mascara, but i didn`t found it so great, i don`t know which one i had anymore, but it was kinda clumpy, and i don`t like that. Now i have Max Factor lash perfection le and this is the first mascara that really does not clump and seperates the lashes great, also staying power is very good, so for now i will stay with this one. And just like rosebud have said it`s not worth spending much money on mascaras and i also find drugstore mascaras sometimes do a better job then high end mascaras! |

I have to say that MAC's mascara is my only disappointment. I have tried two different kinds - neither of which are the quality of their other products, all of which I have loved. Surprising. Bummed out at having spent so much money on them, I've taken to applying a mascara primer that I purchased from Clinique (a whole other story....), and this seems to make the MAC adhere and separate the lashes better. |

Funny thing with mascara is that I've noticed a lot of people are happiest with the drug store brands like l'oreal and maybelline...seem to do the trick for most! I like Maybelline the best... |

Hi Ruth,
I used MAC“s mascara once and didn't find anything special about it. Drug-srore's mascaras are cheaper and effective as well. |

I use Maybelline in the green tube with the pink top--at least I think that's the color combo. I personally don't find much of a difference with ANY mascara. They all claim not to clump, but, really, they all do...I use a lash brush for the times when it goes on too thick. I can't see paying top dollar for a designer brand. Not for mascara anyway. |

thanx for all your input lovely people
...so I'm not getting the MAC mascara
At the moment I'm using Neutrogena Full volume. It's ok, nothing special - sort of "falls off" towards evening. Most importantly it doesn't itch and it keeps for about 3 months and it washes off kind of ok. Before this one I had a clinique mascara, for sensitive eyes I think. It was great the first couple of weeks, then it started cakeing and smudging, and itching - probably full of "beasties" very quickly...but it was pretty easy to remove
what I want in a mascara: goes on well and adds fullness and length without too many clumps. That it doesn't itch towards the end of the day. But it's very important that it washes off easily as well!!!!!! I absolutely HATE mascara that leaves difficult to remove smudges under my eyes.
Oh, perfect mascara...where art thou? |
