1) How long have you been using vit c?

2) What changes have you noticed, if any?

** 3) What serum are you using? I guess I'm mostly wondering if the homemade version is comparable to store bought serums.

hmm, that's all i can think of for now. Very Happy

Hi Azalea:

1. July 2004 (SkinCeuticals C + AHA)
July 2005 (switched to SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic) 8 times more photoprotection

2. More even color skin tone; skin more firm/taut around jawline/neck and undereye area more firm; pores appear smaller.

3. Face: SkinCeuticals C E + Ferulic (15% l-ascorbic), Eye: Cellex-C Advanced C Eye Toning Gel (10%), Cellex-C Advanced C Eye Firming Cream (10%)

Hi Azalea,

I've been using the homemade version of Vitamin C serum since September or October of 2005 so I don't know if that's long enough for your purposes.

Prior to making my own, I used a commercial brand and after using the entire bottle I noticed no difference at all.

However, since using the home crafted version [as found in the DIY thread] I have noticed a "brightness" to my skin ... a reduction in fine lines around my eyes and a more even skin tone.

I like the home crafted version ... because I know exactly what's in it.

Mary

Hi TigerTim:

I love both the Cellex-C eye toning gel and the eye firming cream. I love my SkinCeuticals too, but SkinCeuticals Vit. C eye serum is only 5% l-ascorbic and I wanted something a little stronger so I chose the Cellex-C eye products with 10%. In the morning, I put on the eye gel first (although called a gel, it is serum consistency) and I layer on top of that the eye firming cream which gives a nice moist cream texture and top it all off with an SPF 30 sunblock.

Hi TigerTim:

I just wanted to clarify that the Cellex-C eye products I use do not have SPF 30 in them. I layer on DermaDoctor's SPF 30 Oil-Free Sun Block after putting on the Vitamin C products.

Very Happy

1) Roughly since mid-2003.

2) Brighter, more even toned skin.

3) I've only ever used commercial ones. I started with Skinceuticals 10%, then went to Vivier 10% and then 20%, then also tried SircuitSkin 10%, Janson Beckett 10%, Cellex-C 17.5% and now EmerginC 20%.

1. For about 1.5 years the first 6 or so month it was the only skin product I used.

2. I have very light skin but subject to redness. In the first three weeks I noticed a nice glow and much more even color. Later I believe it has helped with pore size and firmness.

3. I started with Skinceuticals 20 and Cellex C firming cream. I now use PSF 20% and homemade. I do not know that I see any difference in effectiveness I think all the difference is in texture and where it is drying or more "oily". I have combo skin so I like 2 textures.

I'm at the beach a lot in the summer so I love the extra sun protection that vit C offers. Everyone should use it.
