Blue vessels? They are called spider veins...My sister gets them. Women are prone to getting them because of our hormones and such..Crossing your legs or excessive standing (Which causes vericose veins as well) can increase the chances..Sun exposure causes them as well. If they are in your inner thighs its probably from crossing your legs...

Hi Aga,

I have the same problem.

They can be hormonal/hereditary. I started getting really noticable ones on my legs while being on the pill.

My mother also has them, so I may have inherited them.

I have milky pale skin, so they really stand out on me. Sad

I've got them around my ankles, and like you Aga, they seemed to appear overnight Shock Any painless way to get rid of them?

I have one because I always cross my right leg over the left. I actually have a permanent dent in my calf too.....

must break that habit along with picking at zits, picking at toenails, and eating too much.

oh i aslo have a few around ankles due to sitting too much and without enough exercise. basically is because of poor blood circulation. avoid too hot or cold bath, avoid giving extra pressure (stand or sit too much, cross legs etc.) and exercise.

there is a niche of people with problem in vulves in the blood vessels in the legs, and therefore the veins are weak and cannot pump the blood properly. They need to undergo operations.

There are several ways to get rid of them,
none of them painless or easy.

It is definitely hereditary, hormonal and also caused
by too much standing/sitting, etc...

I suffer from them as well, and had undergone
what is called Sclerotherapy, which involves
injection of a solution in the vein to cause
the lining walls to swell, stick together, and eventually seal shut.
The vein will fade. It definitely improves the look,
and I got rid of many of them. Unfortunately, they returned, so now, I have to live them.

This procedure is done at a vein doctor's office,
and can be costly, especically, since the same
vein may need to be injected more than once.
