i am confused! what is the serum and what is the accelerator? from some posts, it just seemed like the accelerator is adding rosemary EO to a shampoo, but then other posts suggest that it is rosemary EO in olive oil, with some other ingredients.

re the serum - is this just a mix of EOs in a carrier base? i ask because i already have such an oil that i make on my own.

thanks!

Hi akpoola,

I already responded to your pm. Here's some additional info.

Carekate's rosemary oil growth accelerator treatment is oil-based (olive, coconut and some others) and it contains rosemary essential oil and I think also peppermint E.O. But in addition, she put sea kelp and her hair growth serum, which she has been formulating. (It's the same that she uses in Lush Lash - her version of Jan Marini Eyelash Intervention). I use it as an overnight/a few hours oil soak treatment once a week and it really helped with my hair loss.

She also has a spritz version of this which is lighter and you can wear everyday without your hair looking gunky.

In addition, you can add about 12 drops of rosemary E.O to any 8-oz bottle of shampoo you like - this helps with hair health in general.

Carekate also has a nurturing shampoo, which is based on Katee's recipe, which is based on Arielle's version. There's a post about it in the DIY Reviews section.

Finally, though you didn't ask about this - hair vitamins and supplements also do wonders.

Hi Cat,
Glad you posted this. Which do you like better? The water-based spritz or the oil-based? Do they both do the same thing for your hair?

My hair gets unruly after a day of washing. I get itchy on the 2nd day and 3rd but I don't want to wash my hair every day.

I'm kinda leaning toward the spritz b/c I'm already doing coconut oil treatment every week. Would the spritz help to keep the hair from getting all stiff at the ends and lessen the itchiness of the scalp?

Thank you.

Hi bkkgirl,

I lllllooooovvvveeeeeee (excuse me, ADORE the oil) - it is one of my HGs!!! I use the oil once a week as a deep treatment. The spritz is lovely too. I don't necessarily use it everyday - perhaps 2-3 times a week. I don't know if it would stop the ends from getting dry and the itchiness as I wash my hair everyday (I'm neurotic...). Actually I wash it every other day and condition everyday in the shower.

I'd recommend you try the spritz since you already do a coconut deep treatment. I'm not sure if the spritz would specifically work for the issues you mention. Perhaps a dry shampoo (Bumble and Bumble) might help with the itchiness. My hair feels light and soft even with the spritz in.

HTH

Take care,

Cat

Thank you, Cat, for responding. I tried Carrie's suggestion of putting the ACV in my shampoo. I bought a new bottle of TJs Nourish Spa, and added ACV and rosemary/lavendar EOs and jojoba/EPO to a portion of it (I saved the old bottle). Then I shampooed with it. The itchiness went down considerably. On my 3rd day now, and not much itchiness, and my hair is still soft and manageable. So I think the spritz might be the right version for my hair right now, too. Very Happy
Thanks again.

Just want to mention that I tried using just a few drops of the Rosemary Hair Growth Accelerator treatment oil, rubbed it on my hands to make sure they're not too oily, and run my hands through my hair after I washed it. It helped to control frizzes and made my hair smooth and detangled. I can't use it as a treatment because I used way too much in one application, so now this is what I'm using it for.
