I have posted once before about this, but wondering if anything topical helps? I have a couple I would love to get rid of....I have heard mixed reviews about TCA. I tried once and it did next to nothing.

Are you sunscreen daily for prevention? If you are not using a proper sunscreen, any treatment would be a waste of time and money.

Vitamin C and retinol are products that will help with this but I agree with naia2006: if you're not using sunscreen, you're fighting a losing battle.

Yes I am using sunblock on face and body....I have gotten so little sun exposure for so long that I think it's time to accept that they are not going to fade just by staying out of the sun. I have tried vitamin c and retinol. I only have a couple but given how pale I am, they stand out.

Has anyone faded them on arms with just retinol? What strength? I typically use some of the retin a I have for face on body, but they have not faded at all in a year or two.

Have you checked out the Frankincense thread? Some have had good success with it fading their spots… Smile

Yes, havana8 is correct.
You should check out the thread on Frankincense. I've had great luck with it fading spots. You can use it neat or mix it with the oil of your choice (rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate, carrot seed...etc)

Another thing I've had luck with is Niacinamide and Nag(N'Acetyl Glucosamine). You can even make your own serum (check out the DIY recipe thread here) and that goes a lot further for the body.

I like to use things that are good for the skin generally and tend to avoid things like Hydroquinone.

I agree with your point havana8.

Frankincense oil is great for aging skin. It can keep skin supple, ease fine lines, and fight enlarged pores and damage due to sun exposure.

Add a few drops to your regular moisturizer or use in a face mask with sandalwood oil and honey to ease signs of aging.

Thank you so much! I do use frankincense, it has not really faded my pigmentation issues but I love using it neat beneath my moisturizer....it sounds like maybe I am going to need a dermatologist to get rid of them. Thank you all for the feedback.

I second or third frankincence oil. I have removed several spots on my face and hands with this. It takes many months but it does not cause redness and in my experience really works.

I wonder why I am not seeing any change despite having used frankincense for years. Is there a particular brand you all are using?

I’ve tried numerous spots lightening serum and they never work. Trust me, the only cure is laser treatment.

Laser treatments are safe and permanent, I would highly recommend them. Talk to a dermatologist about it. Also, regardless of what you do, use sunscreen every time you leave the house. It really helps.
