| I just received a new essence, Peptide Volume Essence. It's a Korean product and was recommended to me. I also have Green Cream High Potency Retinol (although this particular bottle is a few years old - can I still use it?). From what I understand, both of these ingredients work well together to fight anti-aging. I also have a Vitamin C serum that I use. The question is can I use them all together? I'm a little worried if I slap on all the products at once they may render each other ineffective. I could really use some advice. |

Hard to tell for sure without ingredient lists, but I would use the vitamin C in the morning, the retinol at night, and the peptide probably in the morning 15-20 min after the vitamin C or 30 min after the retinol. |

| I apply the retinol every night and I use the vitamin C serum in the morning alternating with a glycolic acid serum (an exfoliant to remove the outer layers of dead cell that cause dullness). |

| It is recommended that retinol be used at night as it is an exfoliant and not to be used when going out in the sun although I have been reading otherwise that sun is very beneficial with minimal exposure. Vita C in the am. This is what I do. |

You can use the peptides along with Retinol and or Vitamin C.
What are the names of the peptides in the serum? Certain ones are meant to increase skin immunity and offer anti-inflammatory action (eg Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7). Peptides that do that would be ideal to counteract the potential sensitivity caused by Retin A. So use it with Retin A.

I'm following for a mutual curiosity!
I was always told that peptides couldn't be used at the same time as ascorbic acid (especially if they were copper peptides,) but I don't know if you're using a vitamin C derivative or what the situation is. |

Good questions. L-asorbic acid is usually dissolved in alcohol keep at low pH for stability and keeping the chemical structure in L-shape. So, it's a good idea to keep it away from peptides (which are really short chain proteins) in case you "cook" the protein chains with the acidity.
However, vit c in ester form (eg Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, calcium ascorbyl phosphate) are not acidic and will be fine to mix with most other ingredients except Copper.
And of course, Tetra-C (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate/ Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate)
in the oily form will not have any issue at all.
