There was a short review done on this mascara by Gucci a couple years back, but this product deserves to have an updated and detailed review!
I had used the Dior Mascara Parfait (Cashmere) for almost 10 years and then they discontinued it.. then I finally found a replacement - an even better mascara I thought - that being Blinc's Kiss Me. I have been in love with it and have worn it every day since discovering it on EDS two years ago. Though I did try another fiber mascara sold in Japan (Fiber Wig), I remained faithful to Kiss Me.
In June I saw an ad in an Australian magazine for the MF Masterpiece and was intrigued by the wand. It is not a normal wire-brush spool type, but rather what they call an iFX brush that has flexible silicone bristles. It took me till my trip home at Xmas to pick some up (needed a blue mascara so decided to give Masterpiece a whirl)
OH-MY-LORD I give this out of 5 I hate to say it, but I like Masterpiece even better than Kiss Me!!
Why do I love it so?
1. Never clumps
2. Gives me lashes so lush that people comment on my appearance
3. Application is a breeze with this new wand, somehow much easier than the old wire brush spool type - even the little tiny inner eye lashes
4. Does NOT flake at all during a day - even a long day -
(sometimes at the end of a very long day I find that Kiss Me flakes/rubs off easy and gives a bit of a panda look - though my current tube might be getting a bit old/dry )
5. Comes off like a breeze (used Cellcosmet Gel, A'kin cream, PSF Green Tea) - I never even rubbed the eyelashes with the cleanser really, just smoothed my palm over my face/eyes and it rinsed off completely.
The blue is an awesome color and at about AU$22 (got it at Big W) it is a bargain. I am SO getting this in Brown when I go home again in June!!! Max Factor Japan has the silicone wand in a line called "Lash Artist" (only in brown and black) but have not gone to check out if it is exactly the same as Masterpiece.
In Australia & UK (Europe) they sell Masterpiece in Black, Brown and Blue
In USA they don't seem to have a "Masterpiece" mascara but do have "Lash Perfection" "Lash Perfection Waterproof" and "Volume Couture" mascaras that use the iFX brush.
I do still love my Kiss Me and I think I will buy that one in purple but have the Masterpiece in Blue and Brown.
Signed,
A very happy mascara camper |

Mine did not come in a box - or any packaging actually. There was a band of clear tape where the lid screwed on, but some of the stock on the shelf did not have this. I almost never bought it thinking there was no safety seal, but luckily I dug down to the bottom of the rack and found one with the tape intact. Did yours not have the tape at the join of the pot and wand?
I hate sellers that dont package properly... |
