Just to update on my "very sensitive" skin experience with this.
I used this again for 3 days in a row and am not sure if it is making my skin more sensitive or not. I have been very careful making sure I am using it correctly and about what else I have been using while trialing this and it hasn't produced any obvious irritation but it seems that when I was using this my skin reacted a little to other products that it is normally okay with.
I do have another sample of this and will try again in another month or two but my opinion is that I might be able to get my skin to tolerate this but I don't know if it is a product that my skin would "like". |

TheresaL, I think the reason why you had mild reactions to other products which are normally ok is because the Activator Gel is causing other products to penetrate better. It is designed to do this. I just hope you are able to find products that can penetrate your skin without the irritation. |

bushy I agree about the Activator causing other products to penetrate better. Do you think that if I use the Activator Gel in the morning, wash my face in the evening and then apply a moisturizer afterwards and it causes stinging that the Activator Gel could be causing my moisturizer to penetrate better? I would think that the Activator Gel would only cause ingredients applied right afterwards to penetrate better, not something applied 10 hours later. You have more experience with the Activator Gel, what do you think? |

TheresaL, no the Activator Gel would only help the products to penetrate that are applied immediately after it. Which cleanser and moisturiser are you using in the evening? |

bushy I use Kanebo Cleansing Oil followed by either LRP Toleraine Purifying Foaming Cream or Kanebo Silk Peeling Powder (every 3 or 4 days for the Peeling Powder). For moisturizer I use Jurlique Herbal Recovery Mist OP followed by LRP Toleraine Fluid. I also use my Differin before the moistruizers on most nights.
I notice the stinging after applying the Toleraine Fluid, do you think it could be the Toleraine? That is something that I recently started using but it is supposed to be for the most reactive skin types! |

TheresaL - I also use Toleriane Fluid and it generally is ok for my very reactive skin but there have been times when I've overdone it with other products and even the Toleriane stings. It might time to take a break from it while your skin adjusts to the Activator Gel? |

TheresaL, I am not familiar with any of the products you mentioned so I couldn't honestly say. The unfortunate thing with sensitive skin is that even plant based products can cause a reaction. I don't believe that the Activator Gel is causing the problem you are having at night as there are too many hours in between. |

stardust interesting that you have also experienced stinging with the Toleriane. Any suggestions for moisturizers that I could use instead? I find that I really can't go without moisturizer, especially now when there is so little humidity in the air. |

So I read the pair of reviews exfoliator/activator gel combo and thought I'd give it a whirl just on my nose. The skin was in good condition I had minimal blackheads, but not a totally clean slate.
After the two steps I went to bed with nude skin. In the morning I did the usual washed, applied CP serum waited a bit then sunscreen + MMU. Washed it all off in the evening to find I had a massive crop of congested nose pores.
I think you're right! It does suck in the next product you apply to your face in my case gloopy sunscreen, but the morning after - I was surprised |

this is a very nice activator gel to prep your skin in order to receive any intensive treatments. i use the cellcosmet collagen ampoules to follow, which works wonders. there were times when i simply use the gel as a mask to 'wake up' my skin too! i hope you'll love it as much as i do. |

I recently got the $35.00 sample pack of Cellcosmet & have only been using the eye cream. I'm looking forward to trying the activator gel. I'm glad I read this first , so I use it correctly. |

Update:
Thanks to all of you, I tried the Cellcosmet Activator Gel. My skin definitely has more of a glow.My frustration is I promised my fiance no purchasing new skin stuff until Christmas. Honestly, I have more than enough products to last me. Argh!!! I probably shouldn't even let myself on the forum. It's on my wishlist now (since mine is only a sample.) |

I'm glad you're seeing good results with it! This product is now sneaking in to the "my Cellcosment favourites" list
Btw, I share your problem with promising not to buy any more products for a while - only I promised this to myself so it's easier to break I am in *such* need for a skincare purchase treat right about now though.... but I've been so good recently! |

I love this product. The facialist in saks said this product can be use as massage product to help activating circulations. The activator is also good for skin with small pimples.
It is a little harsh when I first use the activator gel, skin will get used to it.After using it, the skin is so smooth and more receptive for the further skin care.
But I don't recommend sensitive skin use it everyday. |

Would you use this with the Active Tonic Lotion? Or just one or the other? |

you are meant to use both. It definately goes better on teh skin when used with activator gel I think.
1. cleanse
2. activator
3. tonic
4. treatment/cream |

I think this product is a must have in the cleansing routine, I have couperose and sometimes I do need to apply very lightly or remove a little quicker from my cheeks but I would not be without it. I can see a different when using this product oppose to not using it. If the budgets alittle tight I would go without the tonic before going without the activator gel. Love it! |

I got a sample of this at Holts and did not like it. I left it on longer then I should have.
I just tried it again over the Holidays and I had it on for only a minute and rinsed it off with lukewarm water and it felt really nice. I have been using it for the past two days and I have noticed that the Sensative day moisterizer sunk in very well and there is this type of glow look to it and maybe it shrunk some of my larger pores. But I did find that after I have washed off the gel, dried my face by lightly patting my skin with a towel, I felt my skin feeling extremely tight and I observed my skin looking dry.
This gel is not supposed to have any type of drying ingredients in it, right? |
