Hi Ladies,
I have just spent the last 2 days reading this thread Smile
I am thirty years old and just had a baby 2 months ago...I had extremely congested skin and came across KH. In the last week I have been using VK2 and VK3 and my congestion has defoimproved but my skin is a bit dry on my cheeks. I am going to order the glyco rose serum and the eye cream.
Can anyone recommend me products for sun damage to the neck as well as necklace lines on the neck?
Thanks!

Hi twispie!

If your skin gets dry, you might consider applying a hydrating cream on top of the VK2. Additional Sweet is very good, ask EDS for samples!

I use VK2 on my neck.

Hi RussianSunshine,

THanks for the reply! I will defo try VK2 on my neck now...I am currently putting on cetaphil on alternate days which defo helps with the dry cheeks.

Practically all of my bad congestion has gone in a week I hope this keeps up!

Time2Bme, why did you not like the Vit H cream?

This is one of the products recommended for rosacea/sensitive skin?

Hi RS ... sorry the delay in responding. I haven't been able to get here lately.

The scent of the Vit H cream bothers me. It doesn't give me a headache, which is how I normally react if I'm sensitive to a fragrance. I just really don't like it. The product smells like B vitamins to me; I hate that smell. I've tried layering it differently to mask the scent, but when I use it, it is all I can smell.

I've been using the new ER product. I purchased the ER5 because my skin was really dry when the bitter cold winter weather arrived. http://www.essentialdayspa.com/karin-herzog-erase-raise-p_13160.htm
It made a difference immediately. The product soaks in really quickly. One of the unique characteristics with all the KH products is their absorption. I don't know whether it is product I will use all year around, but it made a big difference on the flaky parts. I also used it on my daughter's cheeks. While we were at a hotel, she swam in the pool. Because there were a couple of hockey teams at the pool, the maintenance staff decided to 'double shock' the pool. BIG MISTAKE. My daughter's skin was scalded looking. The ER helped heal her face. It was the only thing she could put on her face without feeling like it was burning her.

Now for $115 will I repurchase ... not sure at this point.

When it was really cold here, I had to use the VAK 1% and the Day Cream every morning. When the weather warms up, I use the VAK 2%. I find my skin feels good all day if I use a small amount of the Day Protection over top of it.

I'm wondering if the VAK 2% will be too much in the heat of the summer.

Have any of you switched to the Oxygen Cream during the summer months? I know the Oxygen Cream is aimed at the under 30 crowd, but I'm wondering if it will be a better choice in the hot summer months. I want to be able to continue using the Power of 3 cream (it is like a serum) in the summer. I think it will be too much with the VAK creams.

Times2Bme, I'm still hesitant about the VAK creams. I don't know if they agree with my skin very well. I get little red spots from using either VAK 1% or VAK 2%. But my skin loves Chamomile cream much more than any of the VAK creams.

I bought the E&R serum as well. It feels nice, but the bottle is so tiny! It turns out to be unbelievably expensive Sad

Hi RS Smile

I really like the Camomile cream as well. I use it at night. I alternate it with the Choco2 cream.

It doesn't sound like the VAK creams are a good product for you.

Hi Twitspie
Congratulations on the birth of your new baby !! You might like the Additional Sweet over the VAK cream at night or the Day Protection in the AM. I like both.
I can't really help with the neck lines .. sorry. I know that many swear by copper peptides - that's another long read Laughing

I have read most of this thread ... Wink

I don't want to use a lot of products but want to have good skin. Here's my skin situation.

I've been using OCM for the past 9 months but did not good results (jawline cystic acne) so I recently switched to using REN and my skin has largely cleared up.

But it's not improving so I want to find something that will help that to happen.

Fair skin, dry t-zone (this Seattle weather is killing me!), normal cheeks, some cystic acne on my jawline, a smattering whiteheads on my forehead. My skin is sensitive in some ways but handles chemicals well, which is a bit odd.

After reading/researching, I was considering these three products to start with KH.

Vita A Kombi Facial Oil
Vita-A-Kombi With AHA
Professional Cleansing Cream

I am considering the Cleansing Milk over the Cream since I do have what appears to be rosaea but may just be fair Germanic skin.

Thoughts? Yay or nay on the products?

Thanks!

I forgot to add this .. I'm 35 and have some hyperpigmentation on my forehead (darn sunroof!) and a little around the edges of my eyes (sunglasses). I have the beginnings of wrinkles at my eyes and that's about it.

I'm impatient and found a good sale so I went ahead and placed the following order at Skinterra where I got 20% off and free priority shipping. I couldn't pass up the deal.

Karin Herzog Cleansing Milk
Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi with AHA
Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi Facial Oil
Karin Herzog Essential Mask

Since my skin is dry my research said to use the VAK with the facial oil to help with moisture. The rave reviews about the mask inspired me to purchase it, especially since I nearly got one item free with the 20% off. Smile

Wow, I made it to the end... Very Happy
I am intrigued, to say the least, and of course, here goes my credit card...
Will need some suggestions, please. I am 32, combo skin, dehydrated, hormones due to a new baby. Acne on the cheeks that I am trying to get rid of for the last 2 years for sure. I am using Avene with AHA/BHA now and it used to keep my acne somewhat at bay, but not anymore. Also, the scarring is present.
After reading ALL the posts (and it def took a while), I think I narrowed it down to:
Vit-A-Combo2, eye cream, prof cleanser, mild scrub, oxy face cream. Now I am thinking if I should get the chamomile one instead of oxy...Decisions, Decisions, decisions...
Any advice?

Hi feya!

Are you a dry combo or an oily combo?

Otherwise, I think that from what I've read your list seems good. You may wish to start with the VK1 to acclimate your skin and then after you use that tube up, switch to the VK2. The KH documents all recommend a slower introduction to the oxygen.

Taligator, I am more on the dry side now during the winter. And more on the oily side in the summer...GO figure...I was thinking of asking for VK1 samples and starting from those. Have you used this line? Any feedback?

feya,

I just started using the products Saturday but have had pleasing changes in just that short amount of time. The chin acne I had has dried up and disappeared. The redness is still there but I think if I give it time that'll go away too. I've had a bunch of blackheads just slide right out with little effort when they've been rooted in China for months now! My skin over all looks better. My forehead has a strip of hyperpigmentation on it (from the sunroof) and it's standing out a bit more since the rest of my forehead is clearing up. I've not used any manual exfoliation and yet my skin isn't flaky or rough like it normally is.

Here's my current routine:

Morning:

- splash with water and pat dry
- roll on a little bit of the Vita Kombi Oil on my forehead, between my eyes (above nose), a little on my chin and around my mouth (driest bits)
- pat on the Vita-A-Kombi with AHA, a little extra on my forehead and jaw acne

Evening:

Same routine as above except with Cleansing milk first, using just my hands.

I figure twice a week I'll use my Essential mask and leave it on overnight since my skin is fairly dry.

I'm happy overall. I don't regret the choices I may with the products I got. I did get samples of the scrub, tonus, and silhouette but haven't tried them.

I went with the cleansing milk because I have dry skin and that was recommended. If your skin is combo/oily I'd say go with the professional cleansing.

I went with the VAK-AHA because I'm over 30. It's a 1% oxygen with the AHA so it exfoliates and oxygenates (gently).

I'm quite happy with the choices I've made and think I made the right ones. I don't see a lot of mention of the VAK-AHA and I'm not sure why.

It can be a stepping stone to the VAK2 as it is the least amount of oxygen of the VAK line (in line with VAK1). I use the oil underneath because my skin is dry but if your skin isn't you should be fine.

I'm not an expert by any means! I came across this thread last week and read through it and placed my order halfway through. Smile

I have sensitive skin and it does not like neither milk nor cleanser Confused

Before trying VAK 2%, it's a good idea to try VAK 1%. My skin tolerates VAK 1% well but gets tiny red dots from using VAK 2%.

Also, it seems that I cannot use other lines with KH. So I use it now exclusively.

Hi Feya
When it got really cold, I had to go back to the VAK 1% and add the Day Protection on top of it. It completely prevented the flakiness I can get on my cheeks. As soon as it gets wawrmer, I switch back to VAK 2% and only use the Day Protection if I feel my skin needs a little extra moisture. I still really like the KH line.

I also like the Camomile cream. I use it at night; I alternate between it and the Choco2. If I don't want to use an oxygen cream, I use the Chocolate cream. I hope you enjoy your new products, let us know what you think Smile

When I see "secret" and "flawless, radiant skin" in the title of a news article, I can't help but click on it! Cool Here's the bit pertinent to this thread:

Quote:
Kate Middleton's secret to flawless, radiant skin

When I saw Kate at St. Andrews University in Scotland last month, I couldn't help but notice her flawless skin -- she barely had an ounce of makeup on.

I'm told her secret comes from a small Swiss cosmetics company, founded by facialist Karin Herzog. "Kate's a fan," a Karin Herzog company rep tells UsMagazine.com of the oxygen charged products. "She particularly likes the Vita-Kombi Day and Night cream," which sells for about $88.

Not only Kate Middleton, but Kylie Minogue, Uma Turman, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore and many other beauty icons are claimed to be the fans of the KH line.

It's been two weeks since I started the KH products. I am beyond thrilled at the moment.

I noticed good changes right away in parts of my face and other changes that were not so good in others. I realized that I was doing too much too fast and this last week backed off on the VAK-AHA to only once per day (at night) and using the VAK-Oil in the morning. I've used the Essential Mask 3 times now and really like it.

Tonight I used a sample of the scrub and it's not bad, I may add it to my next order.

So, I'm going to keep using what I have (VAK-AHA, VAK-Oil, Essential Mask, and Cleansing Milk) and see how it goes. I'm not sure if my good skin these past few days is hormonally related or the skincare. Wink

I've had HORRIBLE chin/jaw acne and it's now clearing up once I stopped using the VAK-AHA twice a day. I think it was too much at once.

My chin area is still pretty dry so I think I need some sort of exfoliation. I may try using my Clarisonic with the cleansing milk and see how that goes. It's not a very slick or moist cleanser so I'm not sure how well it'll work. Or I'll bite the bullet and buy the scrub.

I do have to say I love the VAK-Oil. It comes in a rollerball and it makes application SO nice. The rollerball makes it easy to get the right amount of product and not overdo it which is tricky with an oil. It's also very clean and I don't get oil all over the place. I can stick the rollerball in my bag in case I get a little dry patch during the day too.

If I make an additional purchase it'll be the following:

Professional Cleanser (used 1-2 times a week for a deep cleanse)
Eye Cream
Hand & Nail Cream
Scrub

I've thought of alternating the VAK-AHA with another VAK product (or Choco2). But don't know if it's even worth it.

Thoughts?

Another question that I have not seen addressed and I have read the entire thread looking for it. Yikes!

After I put on the VAK-AHA (Fruit acids) with my fan brush it takes doesn't sink it well and can leave my skin feeling a bit sticky.

Initially I thought I was using too much so I cut down the amount I was using and that helped to a degree. But I'm using less than a pea size (I think) and am still getting this sticky kind of feeling.

As I'm only using the product at night it doesn't bother me too much since I go to bed. But I'm wondering if this is normal and how others wear makeup with it feeling this way?

On a related note, I bought all my products from SkinTerra and they have great discounts and freebies (I got 3 KH samples including Tonus & Silhouette) and a free full size Ole Herikson lipgloss with free shipping. But they have a limited selection of products and many are out of stock. I emailed to ask when they'd get them in stock and they said 1-2 months. I also asked when/if they'd get the chocolate products and was told they weren't sure they would.

So, SkinTerra is great and I have a lovely $50 off coupon to use when they get more products in.
