Is this for your face or your body?
What are you currently using?
For body in the winter; I like a heavier lotion such as Keri.
My skin is still quite oily; so I don't have to worry so much. |

Are you doing anything different - I mean is your skin suddenly dry for no apparent reason?
If it's just garden variety winter dry skin, using a good moisturizer or oil after/during your shower will help a great deal. I make soap with cocoa butter in it, and on days when my skin feels chapped, I might smooth a little cocoa butter on after my shower. |

For me, manual exfoliation and then (if you have a lactic acid cream - it helps) and then Emu oil applied. It works a treat . |

Also, if its for your body, mix salt (just normal cooking salt, any will do) with olive oil and a bit of water into a thick paste. Rub that all over your body before a shower or while in the shower. Not only it feels great, your skin will be so smooth! Don't forget your hands. |

Check the ph of your cleanser. If it is over 6-6.5, it's too harsh. Exfoliate with a microfiber cloth, Clarisonic etc and moisturizer. |

What works best for me to keep dryness to a minimum is Aloe vera. In winters I also like to use home made orange peel mask almost every day.. |

Also, if you have dry skin you could be hypothyroid. |

Welcome to this forum, edwinwaynell Drinking enough water daily will keep you hydrated, so check first your "diet"... If your skin is really dry (and feeling dry), you can use a liquid cleanser with a microfibre to massage and exfoliate the skin and then use some sort of moisturizer suited for your skin OR you can use pure Moroccan 100% Argan oil to hydrate your skin. It works every time.... Argan oil is not greasy and easily absorb into the skin...You can buy Argan oil from your organic stores.... |

Take warm (not hot!) showers/baths and apply moisture right away! |
