Hello I am trying to find 100% D-Alpha Tocopherol but am having trouble. Either the product has other ingredients added to it (olive oil, coconut oil etc), or it is a synthetic version (DL, Acetate).
Is there a good inexpensive 100% D-Alpha Tocopherol I can find somewhere?
Also, what IU should I be looking for and why? Ive seen anywhere from 400IU to 32000IU |

Ok so I did some more searching and found my Whole Foods has "Vitamin E High Potency gelcaps". Ingredients are D-Alpha Tocopherol, other ingredients:gelatin, glycerin and soybean oil.
Im assuming this is probably as close to raw D-Alpha Tocopherol as im going to find. The IU is 1,000 which is 3,333DV. Is this ok to use in my serum at .5%?
If so, I guess I will use that or the already purchased plain old Wheat Germ Oil from Garden of Wisdom (the recipe called for it). I know that Wheat Germ Oil has the highest concentration of Vitamin E, but I dont really understand the concept of the IU measurement. I then googled and saw that another Wheat Germ Oil product, Viobin, has only 10 IU of Vitamin E in 1 teaspoon of it. So will I not be adding a sufficient amount of Vitamin E to my serum if I use the Wheat Germ oil compared to the Whole Foods Vitamin E?
I couldnt find any product that is Vitamin E made from Wheat Germ Oil. |
