I think the people on this board concerned with skin lightening might be minimal. Most, I think, would've used Hydroquinone for sunspots or hyperpigmntation in general and not overall whitening.
But you can do an advanced search and see what you come up with. There are likely threads that deal with this subject.
My experience with hydroquinone is limited. I only have used the 2% very inconsistently for a few sunspots and always confined it to the affected area..

It worked for me when I did obaji. It was good for evening out skin tone.

I also bought a skin lightening cream from skin actives. It worked too. However I have fair skin and I wanted to brighten my look. So, I don't know if you want it for.

However.. I thought the skin actives cream worked pretty good and they use natural skin lighteners.

What about going from brown skinned to white?
Is it possible with hydroquinone?

Anyone here tried glutathione injections/

I've used hydroquinone at various strengths and had okay results. Consistency is key. To avoid developing a tolerance, it's advised that you take 3 months off and then restart your skin lightening regimen. You'd have a difficult time going from dark to white using hydroquinone. For drastic results, Mequinol might give you the results you are looking for.

Am I the only one with whom hydroquinone simply did not work for?

I tried several hydroquinone based creams in my younger days and just quit, they never worked. I found they all made my skin a mess. At the time the Obagi products were a little too expensive for me, however, I just discarded them because I thought they were useless like the others.

I am seriously considering the natural route to skin lightening, like niacinamide, licorice root, not kojic acid as that thins the skin, but perhaps alpha arbutin. Can anyone recommend a great alpha arbutin based product?
