My question is I want to start swimming regularly. But since I notice these lovely goggles marking my eyes, I'm wondering if long term I'm going to have some permanent damage caused and what have others done, or found to work to avoid this if that is the case. thanks

I had the same concern, and I've been using diving masks for years. I don't remember where I got the one I use now (they last forever), but it covers the face from mid-forehead to mid-cheek, and covers the nose. It is mostly clear.

There is no pressure on the delicate skin around the eyes. There is a good seal; I wear contact lenses when I swim and can't have leaking. Any hair caught around the seal will cause leaks, so you have to be careful about that.

These masks cover the nose. It was uncomfortable at first but it took only a lap or two to get used to it.
