Hi all. I've been using an at home light therapy device (610nm, 630nm, 660nm, and 850nm wavelengths) for about 6 months now. I'm pleased with my overall skin texture and reduction is rosacea flares however, I've received quite a few comments about looking tired and can agree that my eyes have hollowed out despite a lack of weight loss. This of course sent me down a rabbit home and I came across a 2013(P Avci et al) review of LLLT that concluded;
"Lastly, it is worthwhile to note that LLLT parameters used for facial skin rejuvenation and acne treatments are close to the ones used in fat reduction [84,85]. Therefore, it is possible that facial volume loss may occur while using LLLT. This possibility should be considered and safety of LLLT parameters should be carefully evaluated based on treatment location."
Am I missing something here?? I'm horrified to think that something I believed was completely harmless could have indeed, aided in fat loss! Thanks in advance  |

The only time I had an issue from any type of facial fat loss was using it on my face the day after I had fillers. It was a loss of the filler, not fat though.
Not a good idea to use after fillers, at least in the first few months. The rep from Baby Q was the one who advised me that it was okay when I called to specifically address that issue. And that was a big financial loss as well. Now I don't use it on any areas that have had botox or filler. |

Certain things just don't work for me around the eyes and that would be light therapy and any kind of mechanical massage..(but manual massage like face exercises or gua sha works great.)
The skin around the eyes is thinner in the first place with little fat pads or oil glands and it only gets worse as one grows older.
Eye hollows seem to be worse for me if I'm dehydrated or tired (and also when I tried to use my lightstim directly under my eyes). Do you drink plenty of water especially before a treatment and do you use the light directly under or around the eyes?
When I drink water and use my lightstim everywhere else on my face I have no problems with looking haggard. Looking haggard is more aging then fine lines. |
