They do have them in drugstores in the US. I think Andrea( or Sally Hansen) but I've heard that this drugstore brand runs. I would love to find a brand that doesn't. This would be a great find. Any suggestions? |

Just found out that the brand babyfish mentioned should be available at Nordstroms in the US in about a month. It's gotten great reviews and is said to be far superior to the drugstore brand.
I'm definitely going to try this one. |

WOW! Thanks queenpedaupe for the informations. Well, hopefully they will be available in Canada soon ...for my Summer legs. They are so pale to be barely shown without any kind of ...camouflage. I used Duwop Revolution last year, was quite happy with it but I'm always searching for something...better. Thanks again, queenpedaupe. You are a real Queen:P:P:P:P:P |

Yes, I've tried the sally hansen brand and "yuck" it does run indeed . Must have been a woman who designed the airstockings in japan and a man who came up with the others ha ha ha:P |

I have heard of it and can't figure out how it works... so you just wash it off at night? Then you can't put it on during rainstorms cos it will be washed off in deffo |

This stuff sounds great! I'd love to try it. Mind you, it will probably get to Australia in about 5 years time... if ever!
I've done a bit of reading about it and it seems that this stuff was invented by a man. One of his female co-workers complained about wearing pantyhose and how they were too hot and they covered up her pedicure. So he set out to develop something that was cool and allowed women to show off their newly done toe nails
This stuff is actually supposed to be waterproof when they ask the inventor how you get it off he said something like "with water and a LOT of scrubbing!".
Sounds very intriguing, but I still don't understand what happens around your feet... I mean you have to stop spraying somewhere! Isn't there a noticeable line?
It brings a new meaning to VPL! You can not only have a Visible Panty Line but also a Visible Pantyhose Line perhaps :P

Air Stocking is now available in the US at most Nordstroms, and at Sephora stores. It will be at all Saks stores later this month. It can also be ordered online at
www.airstocking.com/us . The Air Stocking is made from hydrolyzed Silk, Green Tea extracts, amino acids and caffeine for firming. Just spray it on, rub it in like a lotion, let it dry for a few minutes and your done. It's very easy to use. Your legs will feel smooth and silky. The other products on the market are just wax and makeup. They don't work very well and leave your legs feeling sticky and flakey. Air Stocking is formulated to be perspiration and water proof, so rain or sweat would not be a problem. It washes off easily with warm water and soap. It will not come off on clothing or bed sheets. If it does transfer to clothing, it washes right out. Air Stocking is perfect for showing off your pedicure, wearing sandels and doesn't make you feel like your wearing constricting panty hose. It is truly one of the best new products to come out for women in a long time. |

Thanks Nicelegs,
Your post just came at a very perfect time. I've just gotta a nice white pleated skirt and can't wait to wear it. I have very pale skin and it seems palest on my legs:( . Which shade will look the most natural on them, definitely I don't want a pair of...rosy legs...And will it leave stains on my super white skirts or shorts or drop pants? |

Ooooh, I'm intrigued!
I hate pantyhose, and thankfully I live in Hawaii where people would think you were nuts if you did wear them!
But nicelegs' description makes me wonder if "Air Stocking" could be used as a spray-on tan. (Safer than baking in the sun!)
Anybody have an opinion on that?

Well I have good news for YOU! About 2 months ago, some friends and I were in a commercial for a product called NYCE LEGS, which is spray on stockings. WOW! We all loved this stuff. We were hired to show it off on camera and we all left with cans of it we begged off the client. He's been great about giving us more, because we're all addicts now.
It's super easy to use and it really does not come off. Let it dry for a few minutes and it can take a day in the pool. (I just spent a week in Maui and you can even tan through it.) And it doesn't even rub off on the sheets at night! To take it off, I use my usual soap and whatever nylon sponge my 6 year old has left handy. I've found Scooby-Doo works as well as Pokemon--Hah!
As far as using Nyce Legs as a spray on tanning product-- I don't know if that is the most cost-effective thing to do, but it sure does work. And it's not orange and you know what it looks like when you put it on. No surprises 4 hours later. I always seem to miss spots or get stupid looking streaks with tanning lotions/sprays/foams. I just did a little fashion show in Laguna Beach, and used Nyce Legs on my legs, arms and my back...Half the ladies backstage was swiping my can of Nyce Legs before we were done. I got lots of compliments --and it didn't leave a single mark on the clothes I was modeling. Nylons are a no-no in modeling. But Nyce Legs was just plain fantastic. No pinched waist. Or slippery feet in my heels. Or sticky sweat. Certainly more comfortable to be bare than wrapped in nylon. And I'm finding it to be cheeper too. I was paying about $7 for hose. Usually get about 2 or 3 wears out of them before I snag them or something. So for me, Nyce Legs is a deal. Though I'm wearing more shorts & dresses now I think, because I'm enjoying showing my legs off. I'm not 21, so it's nice to get those looks. I admit it!
Obviously I'm nuts about this stuff. Everyone who has tried it seems to be.
Other than needing to wear black from time to time, I'm going bare legged from now on!
I think the best way to buy it is to go to their website atwww.nycelegs.com |

I bought a can off of eBay, and I'm pleased with it. It's fairly easy to put on, and it doesn't run or streak--I slept in it to check. I didn't put it on really heavily, but it got rid of the spider and blue veins and gives an airbrushed look. It looks much better, is less messy, and easier to use than self tanner.
I paid $28 + postage on eBay for a 120 ml can, but the guy's out now. If you use eBay, be careful not to pay in the $20-25 range for the 50 ml can. I got natural, which is perhaps a shade or two deeper than my untanned legs--I'm a reasonably light-skinned brunette w/ yellow undertones.
I plan on ordering another can, and found it for $28 at http://www.clorders.com/airstocking.htm and for $30 at http://www.shoplifestyle.com/store/product.asp?dept_id=17&pf_id=5919. I don't however believe there are going to be 20-25 uses in the can if you do the entire leg. |

The stuff you got on eBay is the Japanese product-- It's called Air Stockings. But it's a lousy 2nd to Nyce Legs, I can tell you. And you're right. There's no way it's going to give you 20+ applications. Unless you're rake thin and four-foot-two. I haven't tried the other, but I did have a can of it visit me!
After I raved about Nyce Legs, my hubby got me some of the other from Nordstrom. Guess what? It costs almost 30% more, you get about 40ml less and it has PETROLEUM DISTILLATES in it!!!! Yikes! This is bad stuff. You're not supposed to inhale it (try spraying something on both legs and not get at least a whiff of it in your lungs) or get it on your skin. Duh!
Nyce Legs is non-toxic. Safe. I don't think I would eat it, but there's no health risk at all. It is flammable, so don't smoke when you're applying it, but you ought not smoke anyway. Hah!
I'll paste below the details on the Petroleum Distillate in Air Stockings. Bad idea. I returned it. Begged the Nyce Legs folks to send me their product (it wasn't yet available retail), and I'm a happy, lovely-legged camper. Nyce people.
Here's the google on Petroleum Distillates:
"Petroleum distillates are found in a wide variety of consumer-products including lip gloss, liquid gas, fertilizer, furniture polish, pesticides, plastics, paint thinners, solvents, motor oil, fuels and hundreds of other products. Petroleum distillates listed commonly on labels of general household products are those that distill off around naphthas. Petroleum jelly, a petroleum distillate product, is generally regarded as nontoxic.
Petroleum distillates contain both aromatic hydrocarbons (carbon rings) and aliphatic hydrocarbons (straight carbon chains). The chemical structure of the hydrocarbon largely defines the nature and behavior of these compounds. Aromatic hydrocarbons are the most toxic compounds found in petroleum products. Most aromatic hydrocarbons are long-term toxins and known cancer causing agents. These aromatic compounds are found in all crude oils and most petroleum products. Many aromatic hydrocarbons have a pleasant odor and include such substances as naphthalene, xylene, toluene, and benzene. Aliphatic hydrocarbons are flammable and may be explosively flammable. Aliphatic hydrocarbons include methane, propane, and kerosene.
Aliphatics and aromatics pose a special health risk if ingested and vomited. When swallowed, the lighter, more volatile distillate products can be sucked into the lungs interfering with the lung's functions and chemical pneumonia may result. Aspiration of fluid into the lungs can occur both during swallowing and vomiting of the product. Upon skin contact, petroleum distillates can produce local skin irritation and sensitivity to light in some individuals. Environmentally, many of the petroleum distillate products add to smog and water pollution due to improper disposal or during their manufacture and use.
Products that contain petroleum distillates should be used carefully. Wear gloves to avoid skin contact and avoid breathing vapors of volatile compounds. Always keep petroleum distillate products out of reach of children. Do not mix different petroleum distillate products. Refer to the specific petroleum distillate product listed in this guide for safe use, storage, and disposal information."

Air Stocking is now sold in 120g cans on eBay. Please check out my auctions under seller ID: cotoman.
I am an authorized Air Stocking wholesaler and I am also the Official USA eBay Retailer for Air Stocking.
I am located in the United States and ship worldwide. The 120g can will give you 20 -25 applications and is being sold for $27.99 per can. The product made it's United States debut at the end of March 2004. Prior to that time you could only find 50g cans available out of Japan or Hong Kong for the same price.
Please contact me if you have any questions. |

Sales for the past five weeks have been unbelievably strong. My sales on eBay alone have been a couple hundred cans. I am also starting other avenues of distribution as I write.
The Air Stocking product was on QVC a few weeks ago and sold out 6500 cans in 5 minutes.
Feedback from my customers has been incredible. Women who have been afraid to wear pantyhose because of leg blemishes now have a way to show off their legs to the whole world and feel good about themselves again. Many husbands have also thanked me. Women want other women and men to look at their legs. Many women enjoy the attention that someone is staring at them. Regaining that self confidence is an important step for many women who have had children and are trying to get back to how they remember they used to look.

Hey...I realize this is an old post and winter is coming up (at least in the n. hemisphere) so most of us will be covering up our legs, but...in TX, it stays pretty warm most of the time so some of us still show our legs year-round.
I've tried both the "drug-store" Sally Hansen brand (around $9.99US) and the AirStocking brand ($30US from Sephora). You've got to make sure you shave and/or exfoliate your legs really well and moisturize heavily the night before (otherwise you'll end up with "lizard skin"). The application for either brand is pretty similar:
Shake the can, then hold it about 8" from your legs and spray in a circle (like you'd wax or buff a car) all around your legs. Then, BEFORE IT DRIES!!, blend it in really well down your legs and onto your feet (no, it doesn't leave a line of demarcation, provided you blend!). It's basically foundation for your legs. I really like it because I'm very fair-skinned (I don't tan, I just burst into flames!!), but most of the time self-tanners are too much work and they tend to fade unevenly (hello lizard skin!!). But with the Air Stockings, I can use it whenever I'll be wearing something which displays my legs.
They say the Air Stockings is even waterproof, and I have to say that I believe it because the stuff is damn near impossible to remove. I mean, you actually have to SCRUB your legs with an exfoliating scrub and/or a loofah to remove it because it just won't budge otherwise.
All in all, I will be keeping a can of Air Stockings around year-round for those days when I'll be wearing a short skirt/capris/shorts and don't want to bother wearing the (evil) pantyhose. I've found that if you apply one of those "shimmer" lotions after the Air Stockings (obviously, you should wait until it's dried!) that your legs look even more fab!!
Anyway...HTH.

Wow am I resurrecting an old thread or what?
I recently got an e-mail from SpaLook.com about Air Stockings. I've always been interested in such a product, because I am fair skinned, my legs and feet are so white and I think it looks awful in shorts or a skirt with no nylons.
So I searched the forum and found several threads talking about Air Stockings, the Sally Hansen brand and the obviously-shilled NYCE Legs. I looked at the NYCE Legs webpage since I'd never heard of it and it was listed on this thread - http://www.nycelegs.com/ I found out they have a free (well, almost) offer to try the product. You pay $6.95 for shipping for a 5 oz. can of the stuff that says it will do about 15 applications (so is that 15 *pairs* or 7 pairs + 1 extra leg?) I figured "what the heck?" and ordered the trial-sized can. Here's the link for that:
http://www.nycelegs.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=browse&id=88083&pageid=39
Will let you gals know what I think of it when I get it. |

Hi
Ive just being reading about these airbrushed stockings and had a few questions.
My legs, although are more on the slim side are not really in very good condition. They look quite old and I have awful cellulite that goes from the back of my knees all the way up the back of my thigh. Could these airbrushed stockings help to cover this up. I also have some broken veins on my legs too.
thanks

Yes, these air stocking-type products would be quite helpful in disguising the cellulite and vericose veins -- you just need to be sure to exfoliate well before hand (otherwise the stuff will "grab" onto the dead skin and look crappy). It also helps if you keep your legs well-moisturized (for the same reason). I've found it helps to apply a bit of body lotion to my legs about 30 minutes prior to application to "prime" them....
HTH,
Carrie |

I absolutely agree with carekate. I use Air Stocking to disguise the awful ingrown hair scars on my legs - and to make them look less scarily white. It works like a dream, and lasts extremely well.
Just be sure to leave time for it to dry after applying before getting dressed. (If I have time, I give it around 20 minutes.) That way, it never rubs off on my clothes. |
