In the interest of maintaining my integrity and credibility, I’m afraid I must rescind my enthusiastic endorsement of the “Eyecurl” heated eyelash curler. Although the product used to be fantastic and has served me well the last couple of years, recently the workmanship of the Eyecurl has gone downhill.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered two Eyecurls, one for myself and the other as a gift for my 18-year-old niece. When my Eyecurl arrived and I took it out of its wrapper, loaded the battery into it and went to turn it on, the on/off power switch assembly literally fell apart in my hands. A quick phone call to Jessie, to find it if she had any problems with her new Eyecurl, revealed that her device also fell-apart when she took it out of the package. And if I remember correctly, I believe another EDS member mentioned in one of the threads that her Eyecurl also fell apart the first time she tried to use it.

After my new Eyecurl died before I had the chance to use it, I did email the company to let them know what had happened and offered to give them a chance to make it right, however Hare & Beauty Ltd. completely ignored my email and as of yet has not responded.

It is for this reason that I can no longer endorse this product, and my sincerest apologies to any EDS members who purchased an Eyecurl heated eyelash curler based upon my recommendation.

If any of you who were ripped off by this product wish to lodge a complaint against the manufacturer, I have posted their contact information below:

...luckily I'm still skint, but I really wanted one. Sorry about the bad experience, maybe we should send them this link to get them moving and refund you

Bummer! I hope they get their act together! Surely it wouldn't hurt to send a replacement - I'm sure those things cost them peanuts wholesale Confused

If you are looking for another one, I can attest to the quality of my ModelCo one Wink

Yeah, that’s what’s pissed me off so badly. I’ve bought at least a dozen Eyecurls from them in the past few years to give as gifts to all my female friends and relatives, and I don’t know how many customers I’ve sent them based upon my recommendation of the Eyecurl, and these chickensh*t b*stards don’t even have the courtesy to reply to my email??? I’m waiting to receive my niece’s faulty Eyecurl, then I’m going to ship both of them back with a request that they be replaced so I’ll keep everyone posted, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this matter, just in case they were sitting on the fence about buying an Eyecurl for themselves. I don’t want anyone else to get screwed based upon my recommendation!

Oh, how disappointing! And especially because you have been a good customer, that's what gets me the most when this sort of thing happens. It was my Eyecurl that fell apart on me the second time I used it. Everytime I take the cap off, more pieces come off. The tip part that protects your eye from the heat sort of just fell apart, like the plastic was really brittle. I paid $21 CAD/$17 US for it one eBay with shipping.

The Blinc heated curler (ugh, this thing was so expensive! $28 CAD/12 GBP plus shipping) is sturdier and it has two coils so it's hotter. But, I don't think the heated curlers of any kind are for me. I really need a good crimp to curl my straight lashes.

I'm loving my Tweezerman corner lash curler!!

I read your 'non' endorsement, and have to say I couldn't disagree with you more. I've been using eyecurl since 2002 and have bought and given these products as presents also. I found the company to be great and it sounds like you have got disappointed over a very small item, suggesting there is more to your complaint. It seems strange to me, as every time I have ordered or been in contact withy this company they have been great. I am going to bring this to their attention as I wouldn't be surprised if what you have written in liable. Anyway, I've much more going on in my life than worring about my eyelash curler no matter how good it is. You are sad... Jade Rolling Eyes

Jade,
Maybe in the for years between CareKate's post and your recent one the company improved the quality based on complaints of customers?
Just a thought, if many customers had theirs falling apart and contacted the company they may very well have realized that if quality was not improved they would not have any customers left.
