I'm coming out of lurkdom to ask this question - it's kind of embarrassing, but I know there are a lot of people with sensitive skin on this list. Whenever I use any kind of soap, body cleanser i get very itchy in my private parts. I do have fairly sensitive skin to preservatives i.e. lauryl sodium sulfate and perfumes, even my toothpaste will cause my mouth to burn and peel a layer of skin if LSL is in the first three ingredients. Anyways, I would love to hear suggestions on some nice mild body cleansers and lotions that have very few perfumes and additives. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much in advance!
Happy Holidays

I can't use any bubble baths because of this either Last year I decided to use a different brand of washing tablet, big mistake!! All my privates nearly burnt off I had to wear skirts and even underwear irritated me.
I just use natural soaps in the shower and there are so many SLS free shampoo and conditioners available now |

Thanks Rosebud. Since you are in the UK I'm sure the natural soaps you use I cannot get in the States? I have tried some natural soaps at from the local Health Food Store and from a lady that makes her own, and they still can be somewhat irritating. I did though find hair care products that I'm very happy with that do not have LSL etc. in them. |

I've used Dr Hauschka body wash and it was pretty mild -- worth a shot if you can track it down. |

Always check the ingredients on feminine hygene products as I am pretty certain some contain LSL |

I had problems as a child that were eventually diagnosed as cystitis (sp?) -- since I was 4 years old when this was discovered, I don't remember much of it. BUT, I will tell you that I have had minimal problems since I followed the Dr's instructions. There were a few, but the one that I have always been careful about was to "use Dove or Camay" soap product.
I am sure there are other choices now (30 years later) but I haven't bothered to find any, I have been relatively symptom free since I was a child.....
Hope that helps. |

I have a similar problem at times so I use either Cetaphil for sensitive skin or J&J baby shampoo. Both of them work great for me! I got the tip to use the baby shampoo off of another website for this exact problem. Isn't it great to be female? |

I use Miessence Sunflower Body Wash. It is organic and has absolutely no chemicals. So, there are no itchy reactions.
I had some samples, but I'm all out of the body wash ones. I have some of the body creme samples left, though, if you would like me to send you one.
I seem to only post about these products, because they are all I use now. I always had such horrible reactions to chemicals in products, and now my skin feels great.
Also, they have several toothpastes that are really good. I use the mint toothpaste.
Here's the product site:
