If you ever thought to try Thermage, I think you'd be better off saving your money. I tried it and it was like throwing away money. It did not work whatsoever. It was also very uncomfortable. |

You can read up on Thermage here http://www.thermage.com/general/faq.cfm
I wasted so much money on this procedure as well as time, so I don't want anyone else to do the same, but if you got tons of money and still want to try it, go for it. I just did not see any results for myself. The funny thing is they told me after the procedure, it would keep on working, so in 3 months or 6 months, I should see results. Well, that is a long time to wait, and by then, do you really want to go back to the clinic and yell at them that it didn't work? |

Wow, I was going to try this procedure too. If you don't mind me asking, how much was your treatment? |

It seems to be hit and miss. I've seen people where it's worked very, very well and I've seen the opposite. Several months ago O magazine did a piece with several derms/plastic surgeons and the majority had stopped offering it in their practices due to the fact that it's not consistent. I've heard that people with thin skin seem to fare better than those with thicker skin.

if it does work it is very temporary, then the skin goes back to the way it was. The ONLY way to get of excess skin is surgery, at least you know you will get a real change.Thermage also can permanently damage your face , it can melt the fat in your face and cause dents and a gaunt look to your face,I have seen the damage its awful There are good plastic surgeons like dr. ellenbogen in Bev Hills who refuses to do thermage because he has seen so many damaged patients. He is a specialist in fat grafting, actually the first who pioneered the technique 20 yrs ago,he tries to repair and replace the fat loss by thermage damage. Do not do this! |

Lucy, you took the words right out of my mouth! Yes, I've seen the photos of those ladies who had a bad result and it is NOT pretty at all! Actually, its quite freakish looking and you can tell the damage would cost a truckload of $$$ to fix. |

If I remember correctly I paid about $800 for it. It might have been more! Ouch! |

I have heard of people paying 3000 for thermage.More and more drs. are waking up to the fact that it is a procedure that frequently does not yield the results they seek and can sometimes damage your face. Many have stopped offering it. When women start to age they panic and will resort to any crazy procedure to try to make themselves look younger because they are so terrified of plastic surgery. The titan is the latest big ripoff and that can be like 5,000. |

I might have paid over $1K for Thermage. I have to go back and look at my credit card statement. I just remember it not being cheap. You're so right. Women would do anything to reverse aging, and the scam is all these things that you don't see results right away. I have not heard of the titan, but I'm glad you mentioned it. I won't try it. Actually I am having a good result with whatever I'm doing right now. I was just looking at my face, and thought how radiant my skin has become, especially around my eyes. I tried so many new things, so it's hard to say what's the cause of it. If I have to guess, I'd say it's Candy's Ultra Triple C serum + Best Bath Store Intensive Eye Treatment Cream. |

I strongly advise all women who are in a tizzy over aging to steer clear of all NEW treatments meaning lasers, new surgical procedures like the featherlift(a complete rip-off), the lifestyle lift etc....give it 5 years by then you will know whether or not it has a lasting effect or if it is a potentially dangerous procedure.Research everything thouroughly! Before I had my FL I researched it for almost a year...on the internet in chat rooms like makemeheal I also went on many consultations with the top drs in s. ca. I checked all of their backgrounds to make sure they were certified by the ABPS , that is the ONLY certification that REALLY counts, not many have it. It paid off because my PS shaved at least 10 yrs off my looks, no more double chin or droopy lids or saggy face. Its your hard earned money, be careful with it many drs. will try to talk you into procedures that are useless or too new to really be proved.Remember drs. get lied to by agressive salespeople about claims on lasers, sometimes drs are too busy to really keep up on things so do your own homework. |

Thank god for letting me know about this. I was thinking abt doing it in 5 yrs. I think i'll just age gracefully instead.
Anyone heard abt stitching a gold thread underneath each cheek to hold the skin or something? |

thats similar to the featherlift, another new procedure and not long lasting .most people that get the featherlift(its not cheap 3 to 5,000) end up getting a facelift in a year. The problem with pulling up loose skin is that you still have loose skin and it will tend to bunch up on you,I have seen featherlifts where the neck looks extra wrinkly you can liken it to a drawstring bag you pull it and you just get wrinkles in other places, you need to get rid of loose skin by surgery. There is also a picture of a bad featherlift on makemeheal.com under albums you can see the threads through her cheeks, its awful. |

Sorry you went through this. I could've saved you the money.
Thermage and ThermaCool was a competitor for one of my companies. We had a similar radiofrequency device that was good but all of these products are just too dependent on a number of other factors to produce widespread benefits. |

Ro, yeah, I wish I found this forum before my stupidity. Anyway I just bought the LightStim. What do you think of that?

There were some other problems related to Thermage... there were quite a few women, who were left with shallow areas or indents were the thermage treatment actually reduced/melted the fat deposits under their skin -- definitely something to stay away from. |

I have a colleague who lost a lot of fat in her face from Thermage. She looks like she has aids. She is getting fat graphs, but the fat keeps getting reabsorbed. |

There have been lawsuits for exactly those kind of results -- it's really unfortunate. |
