I have noticed that a few members on this site have had good results with the vitamin c recipe from personalformulator or skin actives but was wondering if anyone has tried anything like the phyto+ recipe from skin actives and seen good results? I am going to try that eye cream recipe that katie made - sounds promising!! |

I regularly make up batches of the homemade Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream, it is as good if not sometimes better than the original. I love the fact that I do not have to use a seperate make-up remover also I like to vary the essential oils I add so that I never get bored of the scent. |

What oils do you add Rosebud? And, do you follow the DIY link or do you have variations? Tx |

Yes I do follow the basic DIY recipe, at the moment I like just adding Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil, perfect for Oily, acne skin and combined they give off a wonderful aroma. |

The Vitamin C is good, I've made batches and passed it on to my mom and my aunt. Also Dr. H's CC is great. Now I know what skin should feel like after washing it. |

Most of the stuff I use that works is DIY. I have been using OCM for a year now ... I make my own glycolic/S.A. toner ... and I use what I call "pearl paste" as a moisturizer and a healing assist. I make my own Vitamin C serum ...
I have always had a problem with commercial products ... my face doesn't seem to like something in commercial creams, whether it's the emulsifier or just the "cocktail" of ingredients, I can't be sure. What I do know is that most commercial creams make my face break out ... foundation that isn't MMU makes my face break out ... commercial cleansers either don't do anything for my skin or they make my skin break out. It's just not worth it.
My skin likes "simple" ... and the fewer ingredients the better apparently. The only "commercial" things I seem to be able to use is Rose Hip Seed Oil or jojoba oil ... This saves me lots of money ... but since I adore some of the jars and bottles that commercial products come in, I sometimes feel "left out" as it were!
Still, I can't argue with success ... and since I began using DIY products, my skin has never been clearer. Now, being 55, my skin will never be perfectly "smooth" or "flawless" looking ... especially in a 12X magnifying mirror ... but the difference in the texture, clarity and tone of my skin in the past year is 400% better than it was 1.5 years ago!
Just my experience ...

My fave DIY recipe is the Dr. Holland’s Super Brightening Super-Sonic Facial Mask--on the DIY thread, p. 13: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5981&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=300
It is awesome! I suggest that you start out with the recipe as posted, then over time you can adjust the essential oils and/or ingredient amounts to your likings. |
